2012 - Do not buy titles

As the thread title says, what games have come out this year that you've bought or almost bought and eventually came to your sences

Mine:

Must Not buy:

1) Warz - Cheap feel, idiotic Dev's coupled with a stink of desperation.
2) MoH - I was lucky enough to listen to my clan mates who were appalled at how bad the game was

I think 2012 has been a good year for gaming in honesty. My only let down was AC3.

Carrier Command Gaea mission is the only one I can really think of that I regret, It could have been great but was poorly executed & a chore to play in the end, it was a cheap game but it felt like it too.

Although I think the thread should include the glut of so called AAA games released late 2011.

Battlefield 3 I'm looking at you here.

MOH yeah, I understand that, but MW3, I'm hocked and really enjoy it. Campaign was short, could have been a lot longer.

What was wrong with it? Different to what you expected?

Thread does not logic make

surely the standard of every game is subjective.

you could do a best games of 2012 and have people mention some of the same titles.

I think that's the issue, it's the same & in no way different. Just the same re-churned game. Been that way since MW tbh, hence why I don't buy it.

MoH I thought was terribad.

Carrier Command Gaea mission was shocking. Cool concept and some cool features but the AI pathing was so terrible it just made the game a huge chore. Avoid.

I think thats all iv played that was new this year... Nothing else even interested me. oh GW2 was fun but a let down. Not gonna say id avoid but... meh.

Max Payne 3

All IMO are overhyped console garbage but on PC they come with the DX11 goodies which add virtually nothing & the gameplay is just terrible if you can pick these up sub £10 each that is all they are worth IMO as they are really DX9 titles with a few DX11 features not true DX11 titles at all.

The hype leads you to believe they are something special but the reality is they are not even great looking slightly above average but that's about it really.

Save your money for Steam sales & or decent Indie games

but 2012 has been a poor year overall so many games came with a massive hype budget & were massive letdowns. In the next 3-4 months there are another wave of big budget games coming to PC (Star Trek, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Dead Space3, Lost Planet3,Resident Evil6 & many others make Q1 an expensive time if the actual games are worth buying that is!).
