Dead Island - Who are these randoms?

I've started playing Dead Island.

1. How do I stop random people joining my solo game? They just appear from nowhere. I've selected campaign and want to play it on my todd.

You need to set the game to LAN instead of Internet!

Go to the menu, select options & then Multiplayer.

If you want a co-op

I love the game!

You stop playing, exit to desktop and uninstall Dead Island because it blows goats.

I really need to give this a go again, Got it in a steam sale I think and got annoyed with it in 5 minutes (half of the games i get annoyed at is no native Widescreen triple monitor support). Got killed by zombies over and over as I didnt have a clue what I was doing :rolleyes:

It wasn't a bad game its just none of my mates bought it and playing with randoms was the worst thing ever.

I'm going to defend it as I've thoroughly enjoyed the Single Player & Co-op! Once you get into it, it's great fun!

Rage quitting doesn't give it a fair advantage!

I guess it's better when you have people to play with. I had 2 mates who were also hooked on it.

I'm trawling through it on solo atm. I was just shocked when I heard screaming and talking then 4 other people were around me, it was like my computer was abducted by Aliens or the French.

Gameplay wise it's alright. But graphically it sucks. One thing that bugs me is that I chose the firearm lady and haven't come across a gun yet, plus when I help people they refer to me as a male. :confused:

I just hope Raptide is better, but I got the game the other day for £4 GOTY edition. If I paid more I would have felt robbed.

You'll get used to it. You start mainly using hand-hand weapons and as you progress and come across pirates, you get weapons. I thought the same thing too, but you get used to it.

Because ammo can be hard to find, your better off with meele weapons. Even creating ammo has it's limits. My preference is a shock rifle & shock handgun and 2-3 machete's using the Old Smokey Mod.

It had it's faults, but it was fun for a while. No-where near as good as Borderlands, though.

I agree it's a bore fest on your own, but with people you know it's enjoyable.

got all the add on's so far and still like the game.
