I would like to build my first gaming pc over 2 months. I'm young but i know good amount about computer building for my age and if i ever need help i know someone who build pc's/fixes them for a living so he can help me out too. So ill get too it straight away. (I'm new to forums and stuff so if i did this wrong or something please tell me so i know for the future).

i5 3570k (might overclock later on but i'm not going to yet and also im using stock cooler for a while).

corsair cx600 v2

Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77X-UD3H

Sapphire Radeon HD7770 OC Graphics Card (1GB, GDDR5)

corsair 1600 2 x 4gb vengeance ram

500gb hard drive (don't need a lot of space to be honest)

sharkoon t9 midi case

windows 7 64bit

So yeah that's it apart from the DVD drive which is just a LG 24x one, so yep erm I'd like to know if this would run skyrim on max settings ok and battlefield 3 on high settings and dirt 3 too. Thanks!

high yes with some tweeks but not great fps, ult no, and what size monitor you got and at what res are you looking to run those games at? as a 2gb card may help some,
so depending on your monitor and resolution etc
and above beat me to it and agree 100% with above ^^

If you have a good internet connection drop the DVD-ROM too unless you need it for something specific and put all the money you saved on beefier graphics GTX660 2GB?

This is because most games can be downloaded over Steam / Origin... I haven't used my DVD drive in over a year...

could someone spec me a pc under £600? :D Would really appreciate!

I would prefer to focus my money on the gpu, should i go for the 2500k or something? Thanks.
Oh and solaris it was so i could install windows 7? can you do it without the drive? new to this xD

I personally wouldn't bother with the 'Xigmatek Asgard Pro' case as the build quality is awful (even for a budget case)...

1. There are sharp bits of metal sticking out around the screw holes on the back of the motherboard plate (be VERY careful routing cables in this area).

2. The side panels are very flimsy and don't line up properly with the front edges of the case (they bulge a bit leaving slight gaps).

3. It's a pain to install the motherboard as the screw holes are not perfecty aligned.

I'm sure there were a couple of other faults, but it's been a while since i put together my girlfriends rig using this case so i can't quite remember, I do however remember being quite dissapointed with the workmanship of this case.

Hmmm you sure it wasn't a one off case? We spec quite regularly and haven't had any complaints until now and the reviews on OcUK look favorably on it.

I suppose it's possible... But there seemed to be too many imperfections regarding the build quality with this one case. Maybe i'm just being picky and most people overlook these issues as it's cheap to buy? The case is good when it comes to size, layout and airflow :).
