Fancy a night at GAME's hotel suite ?

Suppose its alright if theres a load of you, assuming its not £200 per person.

EDIT: and unlimited access to all games :P.

Seems very bizarre.

£199 is a lot to play video games, when the crowd they are appealing to likely already has a console at home anyway. Secondly its in January which is the month when people typically don't spend much anyway.

I'm just not seeing the appeal, anyone who wanted to play video games, or have a video games party would surely just do so at home.

Although the article seems to suggest that this is GAME venturing into hospitality, its the only such thing they have done and it could be more a case of it being the hotel who has contacted them asking if they will supply equipment to do so. So they have formed a basic partnership, rather than this being something GAME has sought out to do.

I would think the new hotels at the Olympic Park have probably been struggling since the games finished, even more so in January, so they are probably trying to do everything they can do entice customers.

Decked out with three gaming areas for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii (Wii U appears to be skipping the party), the hotel suite also promises to provide the things everybody needs for a booze-fuelled games night, including pizza, snacks, bottled beer, wine and soft drinks.
If food and booze is included in the price, it's not actually that unreasonable for a themed night's stay in a London hotel.

However, I'd imagine that food and booze are extras. Either way, I'd love to see the look on the Mrs' face after telling her "I've booked us a night in a nice London hotel" and then arriving to that. :D

edit - On a faux booking this pops up:

OVER 18YEARS CAN BOOK RESERVATIONS EXCLUSIVELY DECKED OUT WITH ALL THE GAMING ESSENTIALS THIS ONE BEDROOM SUITE OFFERS THREE BESPOKE GAMING ZONES FOR XBOX PS3 AND WII FULLY STOCKED FRIDGE INCLUDING A RANGE OF PIZZA SNACKS AND DRINKS DURING YOUR STAY BUFFET BREAKFAST IN THE MORNING INCLUDED FULL PREPAYMENT REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF BOOKING RESERVATION IS NON REFUNDABLE AND NON CHANGEABLE GUESTS STAYING MUST BE OVER 18YEARS OF AGE PREAUTHORISATION UPON ARRIVAL IS TAKEN FOR 50 PER NIGHT VALID PHOTO ID AND CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD MUST BE PROVIDED AT CHECK IN

I reckon that means food and soft drinks are all you can stuff, but booze is chargeable hence the deposit...

If I had that much cash to blow on a gaming night I'd rather stay home lol, just get booze in, order take away, plus I don't have to travel all the way to London to do it. The cash left could be put to games I get to keep instead of only having one night to play, and you could have as many people over as you want.

Tbh if I'm gonna book a hotel somewhere gaming would be the last thing on my mind.

As a proof of concept, it's ideal to show how gaming can add to a more modern hotels trying to attract the hip/geeks, adding value to existing hotel rooms.

As a room specifically decked out for Gamers, I think it's poor. Screen isn't big enough for a massive game sessh, and understandably, the price point will put off many off the street clients but at that price, it's cheaper to hire out a university lecture room and do a LAN session with a large projector screen for main feature!
