i have to wait till christmas comes because i know im getting money, but dont know quite how much, though think i might be able to get one of the decent primo bundles or a self build spec within those costs or one of those Zotac mini pc's, but any christmas money i get isnt being devoted to this completely, just i would like to know if there be any sales in line??

They have their daily calendar thing before x-mas, then they have something in January, but I can't remember how good the January deals are.

In the past couple of years OcUk have had a 5% off code on Christmas Day. Whether they do this again it would be good :D

sales are normally after xmas everywhere so guess here's the same, quite a few offers on now mind you, keep posting plenty each new day as well here

thanks for replies, so guess its the case of just wait and see then aye..

yeah there has been 'this week only' offers that have been of interest, but never have the money lol, that zotac went from 120 to less than 100 the other week, its now 107 lol..

another note, is it me or has the system configurator items changed?? few days ago i configured a Zotac with 8gb Ram 1tb hdd Win8 64bit for a fair amount under 200, now i look and even with the standard selected items(if any) its nowhere near 200 just fair bit above it..

Tbh i would be keeping my eye on sites like quidco and topcashback because ocuk is registered on those! Then combined with the deals they have on you should be on to a steal if anything comes up!

+1

Just bought a system with £35.99 off due to a 'This week only sale'. Went via Quidco so got 3% off then applied another 2% off code which you can easily find on Google. Overall taking into account Quidco's £5 fee I've saved £78.04 or 7.89%. Pretty pleased with that!

Last year on xmas day there was a 5% (or 10%) discount on all orders + free shipping ;)

Keep an eye on the daily advent calendar deals too...

to the OP, a bit off topic, but just saw you have an Acer 5740 laptop... same as mine (5742G) if you build a proper gaming PC it will be such a beast compared to your laptop. My laptop reached 100degrees C whist playing batman at <30fps on the lowest settings, the PC doesn't break 40C on full settings (1080p) at 60fps<

thanks for the replies and interesting about those discounts, off the top of my head i cant remember if i ever tried quidco but i know its been mentioned so many times when it comes to buying things, so will have to have a look.

is your with the dedicated GPU? mines is, but mine has a HD 5740, dont know if my computer could play batman, never tried, but i know theres a lot of hit & miss..

and yeah desktop for gaming no doubt about it, only thing for me is, i would have to be really into getting back into pc gaming to warrant saving up or spending any money for that matter on any I? processors or AMD version, other than the GPU i dont know what would better the performance of my laptop in a desktop form as these laptops were sort of like top of the range few years ago and still good compared to some latest items and can play many games on good or high settings.

like i said above, anything is better than nothing, 0% back is nothing, 5% off 1k is still £50, worth it to me, and i would spend that on something else here as well :)
