Hey, sorry if this has been posted but I couldnt find a search function...

I am interested in the HIS IceQ x2 cards, I like the cooling and thinner overall design.

But, I do not know much about HIS and I could not find any real discussion regarding their build quality. Can anyone tell me if they produce reliable/durable cards? Also, does anyone use this specific card and can you tell me what you think of it (in terms of quality)

Thanks guys

K

have a look at the table in this post

I had 2 his IceQ x2 6950's which i ran with no problems at all, I sold them when i upgraded and the guy who bought them had one die unfortunately.

I rma'd it for him which took about 4 weeks thru ocuk.

Like I say whilst I had them I had no issues at all, cool and quiet. :) Build quality seemed great to me and the coolers do their job well.

have his 6970 since release day still running strong no problems at all also you can rma directly with ocuk if you bought it from them i think.

Ok cool, thanks guys. Its good to know that OCUK will take care of RMA too, seems like another good excuse to buy from here :)

I'd go gigabyte if you're concerned about RMA times. I know some people are saying the newer batch of cards is voltage locked though, so might be worth taking that into account if you're overclocking.

I was considering the WF3 until I read that they have started locking the voltage, why would they do this, I really do not understand? All they have managed to do is scare away prospective buyers who want a little OC.

OCUK are taking responsibility for the HIS returns are they not? I am so confused, I never thought buying a GFX card would come with so many considerations :(

Cheers, K

Ok for the umpteenth time the Gigabyte WF3 7950 GV-R795WF3-3GD is not voltage locked. It is only the 7970 that is voltage locked.

OCUK do handle the HIS returns but they still have to go to Asia and it can typically take 4 weeks. Gigabyte has UK based RMA and typically takes 2 days. Gigabyte also has 3yr warranty. :)

Yeh, I understand the 7950's voltage is untouched. I was merely wondering why Gigabyte has suddenly decided to lock the 7970's voltage? Oh wait, let me guess, is it so that they can sell more of their 7950 stockpile...

At the moment I feel as if Gigabyte is still No.1 choice, I just cant justify waiting 4 weeks if I get a bum card. Add that extra year warranty and your laughing.
