Silverstone 45w SFX psu enough got 7970?

Jut purchased a 7970 3gb, will my current Silverstone 450w SFX PSU be good enough to power it well enough or should I be lookin at an upgrade as soon as I can? Thanks.

You should be ok with that PSU, Looking on Anandtech they got 391w, with your system being more energy efficient I suspect you will pull around 330w ~ tops.

Ah - 450w hmm, will be close!

It will be cutting it close, hopefully it'll be stable enough to run it for a while though until I can upgrade.
 
36Aps on 12V single rail
It will be just OK
The PSu has required specs and plugs
It will do the job at 70-80% load in games
 
You should be fine Silverstone SPU's are good. The max output is probably 500W (knowing how silverstone brand there PSU's)

If you do encounter problems though maybe an upgrade would be in order, but i doubt that'll be the case.
 
The PSu has 1 6pin PCIEx and 1 6+2pon PCIEx power plugs
So you do not need to get plugs and adaptors for the video card
And as specs sufficient power 430W on 12V
In demanding games your PSu Will run at 70-80% of its full capacity
Powering 350W in your PC and sucking around 402W from the wall
