Gutted my wife just put my dog to sleep

My wife (she's a vet) noticed that my 5 year old border terrier was not right on
Wednesday. So she X-rayed her yesterday and then opened her up today. Whist I was at my works Xmas party I got a call from her to rush to her practice. Got there and ruby was still knocked out under Anaesthetic so said goodbye to her and the Lea-full dose was giving.


Gutted she was only 5 and a great ratter :-(
 
That's a real shame. My dog of 14 years was put to sleep on the 1st it's pretty heartbreaking. You'll be glad you were there when it was done though.
 
I remember having my little Yorkie put down after 14 years. His heart was failing and it was best to put him down as there was nothing they could do for him. I held him while they injected him.

I still remember his eyes looking at me, I'll never forget that. Terrible thing to go through, but it's for the best.
 
You gutted your wife and put your dog to sleep in one evening? That's quite some day you're having.






I feel bad. Poor doggy :(

At least you knew why and that there was nothing you could do.

A couple of years ago I get a knock at the door at 8am before I'm about to leave for work... My neighbour informed me that my 18 month old cat was dead in her back garden - I'd only let him out a couple of hours earlier - to this day I still don't know what happened to that bugger.

That day at work was pretty tough... Had to come home and bury the bugger - rigamortis an all.
