PC power and Cooling 910w Silencer......
Thought i would make a post regarding my PSU issue i had 8 days ago... NEW PSU turned up PC power and cooling MKII Silencer 950w :D but i havent installed it yet...

My question is why is my psu and all my hardware still working

when i was playing farcry, i heard a POP sound then pc turned off flood of burnt smells hit my nostrils lol

The pc though decided to power right back up.... i have yet to figure out what the hell happened to the psu as its still working and going strong after a week ...

Though looking at the voltages my 3.3v is low::: here are the reading with Everest Ultimate.

----------------------------------------------------

+3.3v = 3.200v Probably under stress this hits around 3.170v
every other line is fine though
+5v 5.136v
+12v 11.913v
+5v Standby 5.188v

Its very weird though what could have poped in the psu ? psu`s have primery and secondery transformers right ? could be the primary exploded and its running on its back up lol

though in the past any psu that has poped has never started back up again.
its like the psu farted and then powered back up lol

you have been lucky it didn't take down anything else in the pc it was connected to tbh, then again only time will tell if it's given any other part too much power as anything connected could fail at a later date now im sorry to say.

fingers crossed for you, or insurance claim a coming

We have Damage Insurance :D lol though im more intrested in knowing what the hell happened and why the hell the psu is still working.

would have to take it to bits to know tbh, some part has failed, but to guess which one is any ones idea, and why it worked afterwards is again a guess only, but i'd never power it on again with it attached to any of my bits either, not even me old test setup

probably a capacitor went pop? replace the psu though or it could kill your other components if it failed completely

Thanks guys yeah its getting replaced tommorow :D
