My Surface for Windows RT Review

Contacted JL and was told they havn't got them in stock yet. Maybe tomorrow or Sunday is what I was told. I also told them that the description didn't mention that it came with the touch keyboard.

My finger is on the button.

I'm interested what people honestly think here. If you ignore the fact you can probably mod it into a skateboard, what has the surface rt got to attract customers at it's current price?

Apps? Hell no! Cutting edge hardware? Definitely Not! So it would seem office is all they have, and they want £400 for a 16GB version without a keyboard....

I can't speak for anyone else but it's very clear to me why it isn't selling, and it won't sell in any volume until they heavily slash the price imho.

Even then I think they are going to struggle.

You can get an Android tablet for 80 but people still pay 199 for a nexus etc. You get what you pay for... Android is great for general use, but rt gives so much more; full os, great build quality, expandable storage, integration with existing hardware (usb etc)

Give it time... Apps will come and it will be a more complete machine. You get what you pay for... There will always be cheap, mid range and premium products. Apple got the rush on competition; no one else will be able to shift that quantity at that price.

Will be interesting to see the landscape in 12 months.

Don't know what you've been reading but they are ramping up production.

That's something they wouldn't do if they weren't selling.

How is it for using it in bed? Probably my primary use will be reading the net and bed and hoping to god there is an NFL game pass app next year if I get it.

Also is their an outlook app with similar to layout to desktop outlook? Quite like outlook, layed out well and looks nice

I find it too big to type on in bed (I like to lie on my back any use my phone).

It's great on your lap or on a desk mind, if I sat up in bed it would be fine.

Got the chance to sit down and get it networked to my PC, linked my Downloads folder with all my movies etc..and its pulling them over and playing everything....so happy with it right now lol.

Well I won't do much typing, just browsing on here, reddit and a few other places.

Unless of course someone is wrong on the internet, then whip out that keyboard.

I suppose everyone will use theirs slightly differently but I find the on screen keyboard miles better than the iOS equivalent - to the point where the touch cover only gets occasional use for me.
