Both cards will give you about 20% to 30% more performance over your 5850.

I have a Q9650 running at 3.6ghz what would be the best vga to pair up with this I currently have a 5850 and am looking at an interim upgrade until I do full system sometime next year.

but is that the best card lo Match CPU? was going to upgrade CPU add main board and get either 660/7850 but think will wait until new sockets hence I now want maximum card for current CPU and when I upgrade fully this box (shuttle sx38p2) will be shunted under my tv. dont really want to spend more than needed.obviously card length comes into it with the chassis I am using so anything the size of a 5850 or smaller is required!

Its all relative M8, the best card would be the best performing card you can afford as gaming is gpu intensive.


On the other hand your cpu will hold the gpu back slightly.


So what resolution you gaming at and what is your max budget?
