I bought a nvidia 240 for my friends pc however it doesn't work as the psu dosen't have enough power. What similar card could I get new or second hand that would be suitable? Under £35 would be a bonus.

The GT240 is only supposed to pull 70W at max and sub 10W for idle so if the PSU can't drive that you will need to be looking at seriously low power HTPC type cards.

This. The 240 as already a very low power usage card. Upgrade the psu ant thing else would be pretty dumb. As you will lose money on the 240 to get a worst card.

Sorry I didnt read the box, its a 250 gts amp! edition, and on the box it says it needs 24a on the 12v rail. Its a real shame as it looks like im going to have to spend more money on the gift than I wanted to. Am I right in thinking that the Radeon 7750 needs 16A on the 12v? Might get one of those instead.
