Just got my new graphics card and when i have it in the pc the pc wont boot or even post, it just sits there. Had a look over the net but cant see many issues at all with them so wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Tried resetting bios and the 2 6 pin cables are connected.

gigabyte z77 mobo and everything else was updated with the mobo not that long ago.

Corsair HX620w powersupply which should be fine reading the specs.

It boots fine when i just plug the monitor into the onboard graphics.
It wont boot if i leave the board in and plug the monitor into the onboard.
Its in the highest slot, was thinking of trying the other one, but would mean snapping off the cover plates which i didnt really want to and dont think it will help.
thanks for the quick response.

not really importantt hat bit, just with my old card if i plug the monitor into the on board socket and left the card in it would still boot, with this one it wont boot even i do that.

Basically its just stopping it working no post no beep nothing, just sits there.

Oh I see. So it doesn't work with our without the graphics card where ever its plugged in. Hmmmm.
The only thing I can think of is that it's stopping the circuit through the motherboard but I'm not sure why it's doing that. I had a similar problem with my Hard drive.

Try the graphics card on another computer to determine if it's faulty or not.

Check those 6 pin connectors one more time, they were real swines to get to connect properly on mine. It caught me out when moving it to a new case, I was certain they were in properly but they weren't quite and it resulted in the same behaviour.

try a different monitor if you can, i had this problem on a new build i did for a friend, the 7850 i had for some reason didnt like the panasonic tv i was connecting it too, i went through everything, then i tried it on a different telly and it worked fine

actually my build did boot with the gpu in and monitor connected to onboard...but still give another monitor a shot if you can
