Thought i would run it past the pro's first...

Will do luke, been wanting a gaming spec PC for about 5 years now! and Numa helping nubs should be enough of a reward haha.
One last thing however for 3-5 hour gaming sessions is it recommended i get atleast a somewhat cheap heatsink for the i5?
 
I have the i5 myself and have it at 4GHz with the stock cooler. I play for similar lengths (with short breaks in-between) and it's fine. My PC is usually left on all day too, and temps are fine.
 
Ive got the Gigabyte Z77 D3H with a i5 3570k running at 4.5 ghz and its perfectly stable, I wouldnt bother spending any more unless it hasnt got all the features you want.
Even if your not overclocking id still get a decent CPU cooler...you will eventually want to overclock im sure ....we all do :) and you will want something quieter than the stock intel one.

I updated with the MOBO you suggested, could you suggest a decent (not too big and quiet) heat sink?
