What was/is your favourite arcade game?

Killer Instinct was awesome on Arcade, Also Tekken, Every iteration! Although I rememeber the 3rd the most.

That said, My favourites were generally the shooting ones. Time Crisis\House of the dead. Or the older ones that used real video, I forget their names.

+1 for BattleZone. Once the supertanks were coming, all you could do was go backwards and slightly to the side or you died very quickly. Great game.

Missile Command will of course always be a classic simply based on its cameo in Terminator 2.

I was always quite partial to Donkey Kong and Scramble. I used to pop into the paper shop on the way to school where they had an arcade machine, stick 10p in the machine and spend the next 15 - 20 minutes playing before actually getting to school :)

Atari Star Wars. Played it once for over 2 hours on a single 10p credit. Thank goodness it was a sit down cabinet.

Still use Mame with over 5k games.

Moon Cresta, Double Dragon, Gauntlet, Green Beret, Bombjack, Wonderboy, Black Tiger, Tiger Heli, Cabal, 1942 to name a few

Too many to think of a favourite;

Side-Arms
Salamander
Ikari-Warriors
Commando
Speed-Rumbler
Paper-Boy
StarWars
Ye-Ar-KungFu
Ghosts-n-Goblins
Ghouls-n-Ghosts
R-Type
Defender-(Awesome sounds!)
Battle-Zone
1942
and so many more from childhood.

More modern would include mostly anything SNK did (metal-slug series especially) and racing games like datona when 3d really started to get into gear.

I was forever late for school playing Galaxians and original space invaders in the local taxi rank back in the 80s. Galaxians wins it hands down for me, loved that game to death, it was my first real love ;)
