The New Skoda Octavia vRS

Not sure i like it as much as the MK2 pre fl and fl. The new Octavia is a fair bit bigger i think and also, those wheels are a huge no no.

I quite like some of it though. I would be more interested in a Rapid VRS if it was keenly priced.

I saw the more standard models on a fleet news website this week and thought that looks nice, the vrs does look nice.

Looks like a cross between the old A6 and a new subaru legacy

Looks smart I guess.

I'm currently the owner of my third Octavia vRS - having owned a Mk1, a Mk2 and currently the facelift Mk2.
I've loved and enjoyed each one - more so when I still see people turning their nose up at the badge and not realising what these cars actually are.
I'm still hoping they might release a Rapid vRS - and that is something I'd like to see, the size would make that more appealing to me.

I'm looking at replacing in around 2yrs time by which time the Mk3 Octavia vRS will be official, on the road and I'll certainly be taking a closer look.

I'm not so sure the pictures weren't "leaked on purpose". It's unlikely we'll actually see the Mk3 vRS on the road much before June - it's usually around 6 months after the standard Octavia.
The "standard" Octavia 3 is still not official (I say this knowing full well it is, with plenty of leaked shots) however it was supposed to be officially released in Paris - until VW told Skoda they couldn't take it - worried about it showing up the new Golf.

I fully loaded my current Octy - Heated Leather, Xenon's, Sat-Nav etc and it was still an absolute bargain.

I have enjoyed both of my Mk2's. I always consider it a little more "refined" than the Mk1.
The newer facelift Mk2's has the lovely 2.0 TSI engine in. Chain driven so no nasty cambelt changes required and software only remaps will take the standard 200bhp to around 245bhp.
The pre-facelift vehicles (as with many in the whole VAG line) do suffer from a faulty ABS sensor - usually a "when" rather than "if" it will fail. Initially a £580 repair, this has now become a £110 fix (rather than replacement).

If you look on Autotrader you'll find some absolute bargains out there for the Mk2's which will probably only get better come the release of the Mk3.

Really like that. As said if they release a Rapid vRS then that would probably appeal to me more.

I'd love another Octavia vRS. I do miss my one but one car had to go and getting shot of the newer, lower mileage and less broken Punto didn't make sense :(

It has been gone for nearly 5 months, I should probably sort a new Sig :p

Little tame for my liking. I loved my vRS, one of the few cars I kept past 12 months. No doubt the new one will be just as good as previous ones. Awesome cars, twice the car of a Golf.

I like it, but then I like the current facelift one too. Classy, clean looks and it's going to be great value. If 2nd hand values are going to be similar to the outgoing model, it will be a great used buy too. Shame people still have this stigma against the badge.
