I still remember lol'ing heartily when moot was voted winner. Oh 4chan. :D I also like that they usually hide a message in the rigged vote top list using the first letter of each participants name. MARBLECAKE.

Seems a campaign to manipulate the results was successful and Kim Jong-un was voted Time Magazine's man of the year.

But he's not been picked as TIME’s Person of the Year:

This doesn’t mean Kim is TIME’s Person of the Year. That choice is made by the editors of TIME, and will be revealed Dec. 19 on the Today show, on TIME.com and via TIME’s Twitter handle. The poll allows readers to weigh in on the people — and things (hello, Curiosity rover!) — who they think influenced the news, for better or worse, in 2012.

It's just a silly poll result. :p

Well yeah, I clarified that in the title!

:p

To be fair, he did have to get on the nomination list before he could actually win.

Then again considering Stalin/Hitler have both won previously...

Actually rather interesting that the time panel put forward 40 people and he was one of them, if they had not put him forward then the 4chan folks couldn't have hijacked the poll.

Of course they could have, they'd have just voted for some other ridiculous schlub instead :P

Well it is the reason why BBC now shortlist the sports personaliity of the year, following the email voting the year Justin Fashnu won it, and then was discounted with Des giving a wink and saying, ' quite a lot of email votes this year'.
