Hi,

Just ordered a DGM 27" monitor which has the above resolution and I am assuming that a 570 isn't powerful enough to run games at high settings at that res.

So would I be best going for a 670/680? Or 7950? Or something else :)

Thoughts?

If you want to play at Max on that Res your going to need to employ SLI/Xfire. If your happy with highish settings, a 7950/7970 or 670/680 will be sufficient.

I've just received that monitor today along with the His 7950 ..... not put the new graphics card in yet tho, just running my old radeon hd 4850 to see what it's like at the new res .... and i'm impressed with it's performance on Empire Total War .....it's a lot better than i ever thought it would be ....

Suppose it depends what games you play but i'd deffo try your old card first and see how you get on.

I ran that resolution fine with a single 680, most stuff on high rather than ultra etc but got more than acceptable framerates around 40-50 dependant on game.

As said tho the smart choice is a 7950. just cant beat the performance/price on these atm.

Sorry for the thread jacking.

Considering the Windforce 3X and the Vapor-X are the same price, which should I go for?
I was thinking the Vapor-X but it's a 2.5x slot card so I couldn't CF an identical card (as I have an mATX motherboard)
Although with a stock i7-920, I'm sure that would be a major bottleneck for 7950s anyway so the point is probably kind of moot. Correct me if I'm wrong

How would the Windforce 3X hold up if it was squished right next to the other card?
