Hi guys, i was reading an article about the anonymous hackers who are wanting to destroy the westboro baptist church as they were warning people that they would picket the sandy hook vigil which to me is disgraceful and sick! well done to these hackers they have so far done an awesome job and im all for them whoever they may be to keep going and hopefully one day it will stop these deranged, brainwashed fools

What you guys reckon? you think hacking can be a positive thing in some cases and not 100% negative?
 
Of course hacking can be used as a form of resistance for a positive end. It is, however, usually used to block access to a website with some DDOS attack while gaining some attention.
 
I think it shows anonymous to be somewhat hypocritical, it seems they don't actually believe in freedom of speech after all.

I can see what you mean but in this specific case i reckon they doing the right thing. These people use the media to their own demise and i think they need to be shown that people out there are willing to stop them. Because let's face it who has tried? not the government? they been giving their church Tax exemption in the united states which to me is a crime in itself

Freedom of speech to me is a joke, have you seen what this so called amendment has done over the years?! when you have sick depraved people spreading hate and using this as a way to continue is in my opinion a joke and anyone who supports free speech needs to open their eyes and see that its not all plain sailing. I respect your opinion but i just cannot agree with it.

However if you are, like anonymous, an advocate for free speech then it is hypocritical to block someone else's free speech because you disagree with it.
 
So we have a bunch of immature fools using illegal means to suppress the views of others just because they don’t agree with them. I guess that just shows the limit of their intellectual capabilities and reveals what kind of simplistic fascists they are.
 
No i believe it isn't as simple as free speech, you would hate those like the members of the baptist church but you think "yeah its free speech who are we to decide when they should have free speech?" well to the sick and depraved who use this as an excuse should be stripped of this entitlement. Exceptions in a nutshell is what im saying

So let me ask you this, should they be allowed to spread their brainwashed ideals and picket funerals and even picketing sandy hook vigil???? Because if your response was "they are entitled to their opinions" then you can join them because i reckon free speech is dangerous and its used time and time again as an excuse to get away with murder (not literally but you know what i mean)

Oh also its a double edged sword and i agree we need freedom of speech even though in some cases i wish those who use this for the wrong means are punished for this

If you are punished for "mis-using" freedom of speech then it isn't actually freedom of speech...

Regardless of my personal stance on freedom of speech it is pretty much irrelevant to my point. Anonymous have many times in the past advocated freedom of speech, to then turn around and restrict someone else's freedom of speech shows just how hypocritical that advocacy really was.
 
putting it that way i can understand what you mean, im just angry at these fools who for so long have gotten away with murder and they keep spreading their hate. Hate freedom of speech but you also need it, double edge sword comes to mind

Yes as much as you have a right not to agree with them. They haven't committed any crime and anonitools have no right to be judge, jury and executioner because they don’t agree. If they want action then using the legal framework of our society is the only way forward.

Hiding behind a keyboard in a bedroom just makes them look like complete fools which of course we all know they are.

I guess your right, but at least someone are trying to stop them, i mean it might not be legal but just contempt knowing that people who hack for personal gain can actually do something good too.

There are a number of petitions currently underway concerning the groups charity status with the Whitehouse. I believe they have the required 25,000 signatories required to get a response from the Whitehouse on the matter. It will be interesting to see the outcome.

Sure but who decided what can be said by whom. It seems Anonymous feel that they are the people to decide. Whilst I agree with their motives, their actions are still illegal.

The way law abiding people have responded is to make sure there were so many people there that this nut-cult can not get anywhere near the actual funeral home.

The problem with Anonymous is the lack of accountability and oversight. If they go on a tangent, make a mistake on who to target based on incorrect information or cause harm to someone unintentionally by way of their actions then hard luck. Case in point would be raitailer relying on paypal when they decided to punish them with the DoSS attack.

What is the truth really?. According to research the westboro baptist church has a history for its hate agenda ? anyone claiming "God sent the shooter" in the sandy hook incident needs to be sent into the abyss awaiting execution or termination.
