Hollywood hacker jailed for 10 yrs.

I will always thank him for the absolutely cracking pictures of Johansson's body. She had nothing to be ashamed of, they look amazing

yes but you are comparing 1 criminal act to 50 acts.

had it just have been Scarletts phone/email it would probably have bee a couple of months at the most.

Yup, see what sentence a rapist gets when he's found guilty of 50 rapes.

Reality is 2.5 months for one act of accessing someones e-mail illegally, 6-8 years for rape...... fair enough if you ask me.

Do either 50 times, 10 years or 150 years..... still seems fair. compare 50 crimes to one and come to stupid conclusions.... thats the internet for you.

Prosecutors said Chaney illegally accessed the email accounts of more than 50 people in the entertainment industry between November 2010 and October 2011. Aguilera, Kunis and Johansson agreed to have their identities made public with the hopes that the exposure about the case would provide awareness about online intrusion.

He, admittedly allegedly, accessed more than 50 peoples accounts, hardly a small crime. Add that to harassment and I can see why 10 years is at least mostly reasonable. Remember chances are he won't serve anywhere near that.

He looks like a right creep & sounds one with him harassing women & sending there pics to other people including one of there fathers.
Don't fancy his chance in the showers much either. :p

If you offend money and government in America, you get a worse sentence. It is known. Also, this is the same country that kept Kevin Mitnick in solitary confinement because the feds told a judge he could launch a nuke by whistling a code over a phone line...

You wouldn't have a problem with me gaining access to your computers/emails/phones and taking anything embarrassing I could find, because it'd be your fault for creating it?

I'm not condoning what he did but given the nature of the business they are in and the constant scrutiny, it's a 'brought it on yourself' situation IMO. Sure punish the guy, but 10 years? come on!

that's like saying a prostitute brings it on herself if she is raped. Just because they are celebs it doesn't suddenly mean that they should lose their privacy or the fact they are human and will do the same things as a lot of normal people around the rest of the world, and that includes sending naughty photos to people you want to see them.

The guy broke the law 50 times, and has been punished accordingly.

So you think the rapist is a better person because he only committed one crime? Really?

If there was a guy convicted of rape sentenced at the same time as this guy would you rather have him back on the streets in 6 years or the guy who broke into 50 peoples email accounts?

Judges are mostly old people.

Old people (generally) don't understand modern technology.

Things you don't understand are scary.

Scary = Long prison sentence.

...it really is as simple as that.

That's not what was said. We never claimed the rapist was a better person but that people are comparing 1 crime with 50 crimes.

rape is a terrible crime, and while not as bad, i'm sure having naked photos of yourself stolen and emailed around still feels like a massive invasion of privacy.

The point is that the 10 years is for 50 crimes, not one, hence why in the eyes of the law it's that long. I don't understand why you struggled to comprehend what was said.

Whilst the delightful miss Johansson's breasts may be undoubtabley magnificent, i'm not sure there so irresistable as to be worth getting yourself banged up for 10 years over. :p

Mila Kunis on the other hand... :p

I wonder whats happened with them lulzsec hackers? Not heard anything about that since they arrested a load of them back in September.

If he hacked in to 100 random people nothing would have happened but because it is a celebrity he gets 10 years.

Imagine phoning the police if you are living in a poor area and telling them that someone hacked your email account, hahaha, they would ask if you were serious.
