For mostly FPS BF3 and CoD etc, what do people here recommend?

I'd be deciding between 1920x1080 and 1920x1200
I'd prefer the larger res for browsing, say 50% of the time, and the other 50% gaming. Hardware wise it'd be an i5 and a 7850/7870 ish card, but overclocked as well, so hopefully enough grunt to do either justice.

I'm just not sure how modern games would feel on the 16x10 screen, not sure how much of the console port type problems there might be if any? Or hell, maybe fps feels better on a 16x9 screen, what y'all think?

16x10, more real estate ftw!

(I have 16x9 ._.)

Some games let you see more than a 16x9 user can, which can be a big advantage.

SC2 you see more as 16:9

Currently on a 1920x1200 16:10 monitor here. Games look fine on it, though 16:9 1080 is the most common now. 1920x1200 res only seemed to be available on the higher end 24" monitors. Tbh, id find it hard moving to 1080.

Recently went from a 1920x1200 16:10 monitor to a 2560x1440 16:9 one but still prefer the 16:10 format.

16:10 is superior for desktop real estate, obviously. I used it for gaming for years also.

By choice I would have 16:10 but for footage capture 16:10 is a total ballache, 16:9 is just the standard aspect for HD content so no resize needed.

Good luck finding a 120Hz 16:10 monitor also :p

I'm on 16:9 (BenQ Xl2420T 120Hz jobby) now but have a 16:10 secondary monitor for desktop stuff.

I went from 1050p to 1200p, and when I next upgrade I'd like to stick with that or go even higher. That said, I've tried using 1080p when playing games just see what the difference is like, and I can't say I noticed much. Still, I guess its nice to have the option.
