Just installed new pci-e soundcard - getting no sound

Anyway i can get sound from this? I can't get sound from the onboard either.

Soundcard is an Asus Xonar DGX PCIE 5.1 Audio card and headphone amp

did you remove the onboard drivers and install uptodate driver for your new sound card from the asus site?

Yeah, I did. Onboard sound is faulty but the PCIE soundcard doesn't work.

I heard skype on the headphones but i cannot hear anything else. No sound from a youtube video.

Either the card's faulty or you've not set it up properly

If the performance you're getting was normal, there'd be a lot more complaints and nobody would recommend it.

Sorry, I can't check that with my card.

Hopefully another DG owner can comment.
If no-one gets back within a few hours, I'll dig out the old D2 and see what it says

OP if you click the speaker icon on your windows taskbar is the sound level set to 0?

Apologies if this is a complete waste but isn't there an option (not sure if it's the case with all modern Mobo's) to disable "Auzilla" audio in the BIOS?

Perhaps you should start there and see if anything is enabled/disabled that shouldn't be.

Hope you get it sorted I had massive issues with my Creative XFI - Xtreme Music and it took me ages to get correctly configured let alone working in the first place.
