So the OS + Nokia firmware update is released todat for AT&T handsets how long do we think it will be before unlocked/EE handsets will get the update?

Software updates from t-mobile have always be on par with continental drift, I suspect EE will be the same. Probably the end of January.

Give us more info; when did you get it? What apps have you installed lately and check your background (Settings-> Swipe left -> Press Background) and see what's running. Block stuff that's not needed and you'll notice better battery.

I got it in November about a month ago and it's never been great. I've blocked all the background apps except weather flow, uninstalled the skype beta and Nokia drive, and wifi, bluetooth, NFC are all off. One gmail account set to push.

It feels a bit daft as I can't use the phone as I'd like to for fear of killing the battery - Ideally I'd be able to keep wifi on (although I'm used to managing that fro my iphone), do a bit of gaming and have say four or five live tiles pulling in data. Is there any way to somehow conclusively test whether or not the battery in this unit is faulty? The thing that makes me think that it could be software is that sometimes with medium use I get a 14 hour day (which is still on the low side but much better than six!)

Also my wireless charger (white) arrived today and using it is fantastic. This is definitely the way all high end phones should be charged. The Nokia 360 Play speaker arrived too and it's very impressive - I was going to sell it, but I think I'm going to keep it now!

EDIT: Oh and has anyone been successful replacing EE firmware with stock firmware to get the updates as soon as they are released?

Good news. I'm on my way home now, hopefully I'll have a delivery waiting too!
The speaker is pretty cool, although the sound output is average.

Yep, like others I received my wireless charger today. In case anyone hasn't got theirs yet I entered the detail on the website on the 28th Nov so hopefully that may allow you to figure out when you should get yours.

That's not good - can't really help on testing the battery apart from going through it logically. If you're willing to lose what's set up on your phone, try resetting to factory, charge it overnight and then unplug it at a specific time with everything on default and see how long it last with your use, keeping everything on.

Then on the next charge, turn off NFC e.t.c. between each test, labourious but it'll narrow down which is specifically draining.

Oh and *Fingerscrossed* Hope I get a surprise when I go home this evening.

Just been home to find a wireless charger waiting for me.

For reference and to answer nightmare's questions mine was delivered by royal mail and i registered the day the site went live.

I ordered mine the day the site went live, although I found out after phoning them that it was processed on the 22nd of Nov (14 days after purchase), so I SHOULD have it tomorrow as that will be 28 days after it was processed. Will be mighty annoyed if it hasn't come by the weekend!

Oh bugger, just tried to do a hard reset, and its been stuck on the gears for about an hour now. Tried turning it off and on again and its deeply unhappy. Potentially time to head down to P4U and try and get it switched ...

Oh dear. Try restarting again - but it does sound like it's worth visiting P4U...

They have a technical support line you should call who will issue you with a fault code, one you have this rock up to your local P4U and they will swap it out no questions asked.

I used to get 24+ everyday until recently, well until I installed WeatherFlow actually.

I have weather flow update every 3 hours, which incidentally is almost the exact time between me going to bed and the battery deciding to empty itself. 3 nights running it does the same, I suspect because the phones locked, the WIFI is off, it opens a 3G connection instead, but doesn't close it when its finished updating.

A few more days testing various things and I'll post my findings.

Calling them might have been tricky ;p They swapped it out despite it being over a month old and therefore company policy not to - I've had nothing but excellent customer service from P4U so far (which I'm told is not the norm!)

Here's hoping the battery on this one is better!
