Formal Suits

If you're meeting clients and this is a customer-facing role then your suits should be considered as investments. A hundred pound suit can never look good and nor will it last so unless this is a short term solution I'd be raising my budget.

M&S - i normally buy in their sales which are regular. The last time I got two slim fit wool blend suits for £150. They aren't top notch quality fabric but the look pretty smart and only get worn out the same as more expensive ones. I find a lot of the next ones a bit chavvy.

Possibly true, but a £250 suit bought for £125 in the Jan sales would be perfectly suitable.

I got a Ben Sherman one from Debenhams earlier in the year for various wedding and events. Decent quality, very nice slim fit and looks good. Cost £110 in the sale.

If you do up the bottom button a suit, would people laugh at you or call you up on it?

I think I did up the bottom button to my sisters wedding, that was the firs time I'd worn a suit.

Is it something a lot of people are not aware of or does everyone know about this.

I concede that chavs have taken the Ben Sherman label and turned it into a crap name but the suit is really good quality (100% wool) and no it does not make me look like a chav :p

Absolutely this. There are plenty of chavs walking round in t-shirts with BOSS on the front. Would this stop you from wearing a Hugo Boss suit?

Ben Sherman suits are well cut. :)

Agreed . However, I'd rather wait till my position has been solidified before investing 200+ on a suit.
