MILLIONAIRE Tory Cabinet minister refers to police as " plebs " - Police fabricate evidence

Hillbrough
Rotheram (Failed to follow up case on a prostitution ring)
Levison Enquiry (Bent Cops taking payments for info)
Jean Charles De Menezes (Falsified evidence)
Ian Tomlinson (Falsified evidence)

..and now this. And these are just the high profile cases, god knows how many people have been done over is lesser cases the media don't report.

The sooner we admit we need to police our police more and stop making the "few bad apples" excuse every time the sooner we'll have a legitimate police force.

The real question no one is talking about is why the police officer would not allow him out through the gate. Whether the politician swore at him or called him a pleb is irrelevant.

No that question is irrelevant as its already been answered - they don't open the main gate for bicycles. They were just following their orders and the MP was annoyed at them... the real question is the one everyone is asking - what was actually said during the altercation/did the police lie about it.

The latest rumour (AND I STRESS 'RUMOUR') is that the original police log did not contain the toxic words like 'pleb' and these were added before The Sun published it which the police then backed up retrospectively.

In other words, it may have been The Sun who made up the use of 'pleb' and then conspired with the officers in question to submit it into their log.

If true, **** is really gonna hit the fan!

Even if that were true which I doubt it is, all that will happen is one journalist or one officer will take most of the stick. The Sun will deny, deny, deny and then release some half arsed apology. A £2m inquiry will condemn those involved but fall short of saying it was part of a bigger plot/institutional (even it was) and it will all be forgotten until the next time, when the whole process will be repeated.

So corruption is endemic, estebanrey ?

I think it's time to drop the blind faith we have in our police and to stop excusing all these incidents as being isolated cases.

That does not extend to me say all the police service are corrupt, but as I keep saying I do think it happens a lot more than people are willing to admit to themselves.

It's a good job that the press will face strong regulation in future to stop incidents like this from happening. Oh wait...

Andrew Mitchell shouted and swore at officers and he has admitted this. I don't see how he could return to frontline politics. The pleb word matters little.

Depends how you're defining 'shouted and swore'. Saying a swear word as part of your muttering outburst whilst a Police officer is present is a vastly different to screaming, vein popping, flem flailing, obscenity's into a constables face isn't it?

You said yourself, it's a 'minor role' (So minor he officially resides at no. 9 Downing Street) so not exactly (and through part of the role) public facing, he only needs the support of the PM and the respect of the Back Benchers.

He commuted to Downing Street on a bike. The PM and several others get full chauffeur and protection services 24/7. I still maintain it's a minor government role wether he has a Downing Street work base or not.

I also maintain that a bike riding chief whip shouldn't be using the main gate to exit using his bike.

Do they?

He admitted saying ONE swear word. Pleb matters a lot - it was the entire focus of the media scrum which caused his resignation.
