I'll warn you now, that this is a rant.
I don't drink much any more, mainly because I get very annoyed about people who simply can't hold their drink. I get frustrated with the number of both men and women, often young who end up on the side of the road covered in their own sick, semi conscious and unable to look after themselves.
Now apart from being very silly, this puts a big strain on other services. It means that ambulances are tied up bringing these people to hospital, A&E beds end up getting backlogged and this all costs money.
And it's because of these irresponsible people that I end up stood next to someone who has been seriously assaulted, has a serious head wound is drifting in and out of consciousness and what does the control room say the ETA for an ambulance is? 1 hour. I don't blame the ambulance service either. They do the best they can but they get called to people who shouldn't and often don't need their help. This is so dangerously irresponsible it makes me rage. So if you're one of these people who wakes up in the back of an ambulance covered in their own alcohol induced sick, you're risking lives.
