People that can't hold their drink

I'll warn you now, that this is a rant.

I don't drink much any more, mainly because I get very annoyed about people who simply can't hold their drink. I get frustrated with the number of both men and women, often young who end up on the side of the road covered in their own sick, semi conscious and unable to look after themselves.

Now apart from being very silly, this puts a big strain on other services. It means that ambulances are tied up bringing these people to hospital, A&E beds end up getting backlogged and this all costs money.

And it's because of these irresponsible people that I end up stood next to someone who has been seriously assaulted, has a serious head wound is drifting in and out of consciousness and what does the control room say the ETA for an ambulance is? 1 hour. I don't blame the ambulance service either. They do the best they can but they get called to people who shouldn't and often don't need their help. This is so dangerously irresponsible it makes me rage. So if you're one of these people who wakes up in the back of an ambulance covered in their own alcohol induced sick, you're risking lives.

Agreed. Binge drinkers are a serious pain in the backside, and I dont go out as much as I used to for this reason.

You cant enjoy yourself knowing everyone around you is so drunk they barely know what they're doing. People who go from drunk to fighting for no reason.

I understand people like to have a good time, but does it mean you have to turn into morons in the process??

Rough day at the office Burnsy?

I'll put the kettle on?

Worryingly I suspect that's every day at the office :S

More worryingly it wouldn't surprise me if you'd dealt with some of the students that went to school with me. Ok, actually, I think that'd be the guys from our school that went to Manchester...

Don't get me wrong, when I was a student I very much drunk to excess, but I never passed out, I never couldn't get home and I could always more or less look after myself. I never got in a fight, I never needed and ambulance and always had friends who would stick together to make sure everyone got home safely.

Why can't people have some self responsibility?

You obviously didn't drink enough :D:p

Anyone who can't handle what they ingest shouldn't ingest it in the first place. LOOK I CAN DRINK ALL THIS ALCOHOL AND DO ALL THESE DRUGS! Yeah, why are you in hospital then you absolute tool.

I don't know. Even as a student I don't know :S

Had my 21st the other day, and whilst yes, I woke up with a mild hangover, I still managed to get home, didn't get in a fight, or any of the other reasonable stuff.

It really confuses me as to what's up with most students :S

Most students just want to **** their loan away by having too much "fun"

Yes, I did this first and second year, I've learned my lesson now, haven't been out apart from the SU this term :(

100000% Agree.
My friends can wind me up at times, doesn't help I hold my alcohol quite well either, so we'd be at the level of drinks, but they're flailing/dancing/being annoying, and I'm just sat there.
