Hi,

I've got one for my kids for xmas. It's all nicely sealed in its box. Should I bother taking it out and running the update, which i've heard is big, and charge the tablet controller as well as the new xbox looking controller.

Or just leave it as is, and let them deal with it all on xmas day. Do the controllers come charged?

yes pull it out and get it updated,

otherwise you'll be sitting twiddling your thumbs for a good hour or more on xmas day,

our controller was charged out the box but didn't last that long till it needed charged

Yeah update it first especially as there will probably be a lot of people doing the same on xmas day and Nintendo's servers aren't super fast at the best of times. You can play on the gamepad whilst it's charging but you might as well give it a full charge too.

I updated mine today, ready for Christmas, it took almost an hour! By the time it was done the controller was charged too.

thanks, i'll do it tonight, once i get the skids off to bed !

Me too. Took at least an hr. At first i thought something was wrong cos it seemed to sit on downloading update with no progress on the green bar for what seemed ages.

I also left it on for a couple of hrs cos i had the controller on charge. Besides which, the dulcet update background noises were quite smoothing !
