People that can't hold their drink

Just stop poor people and peasants drinking alcohol and the problem suddenly disappears. No need for a ban. Just make the ****e these chimps drink expensive. Or if they have a drink related incident, hospital or arrest (or both) then they lose their benefits.

You don't need to ban it. Just make it inaccessible for the majority of people and have draconian punishments for those who get drunk and act like plebs and cause a ruckus. It's not right that the emergency services are attending to alcohol induced incidents. I wonder how many people have died as a direct result from someone being drunk or the resources they need being diverted to drunks...

Yeh raise the price so the stereotypes cant afford it! I then forsee a rise in thefts and violence.

or

They could well start distilling or brewing their own. Moonshine runners in the uk, imagine that lol. then again I doubt the brain cells would work enougth for it to happen!

When I was young, I would get involved in the old peer pressure of "lightweight" or "cant handle yer beer" and that kinda thing. Would drink until I was ill trying to keep up with mates who would brag about sinking 18pints etc. But in all that time I never did display the typical behaviour out on the street or ended up in a&e, I never even got into a fight and only ever witnessed somebody elses. It did get boring eventually as I grew older so the lure of it all died off and now if I do drink, it is moderate and in a proper enviroment.

You watch people on these a&e programs and you just think its really stupid. Get drunk so you cant walk anymore and be sick or get your head smashed in... what is the point?

Congratulations on being a moron. Have a  for your efforts.

I'll warn you now, that this is a rant.

I don't drink much any more, mainly because I get very annoyed about people who simply can't hold their drink. I get frustrated with the number of both men and women, often young who end up on the side of the road covered in their own sick, semi conscious and unable to look after themselves.

So what? ignore them, carry on with whatever else you were doing.

Now apart from being very silly, this puts a big strain on other services. It means that ambulances are tied up bringing these people to hospital, A&E beds end up getting backlogged and this all costs money.
This is so dangerously irresponsible it makes me rage. So if you're one of these people who wakes up in the back of an ambulance covered in their own alcohol induced sick, you're risking lives.

/Rant

Well i blame the people calling the ambulance.

Tell that to the guy I know of who lives in Dulich, parents do his food shopping from waitrose, and has been in court at least once for assaulting someone whilst under the influence.

Hence I know 'of' him rather than am actually friends with him. In fact, I actively avoid him, or any outings with that group if I can!

Judge someone - well, a whole group of people - based on one incident you don't know the full facts of? Hilarious.

I used to live with a guy who'd got into trouble with the police on a few occasions (before I knew him). He's a great guy who's been in a rock solid relationship for God knows how long/was remarkably studious and completed his law degree with enviable dedication/is someone I'm proud to call a friend. Would it be fair of me to write all that off, just because of past mistakes? Absolutely not.

He lived in the flat with my gf in first year? I went out with him numerous times? I also spent numerous nights around their flat?

He liked to throw knives at people... Just above their heads...

True.

There was one guy who got turfed out of a club for harassing women. He refused to leave the area even when given a S27 direction to leave, I talked with him for ages to get him just to go home. Ended up getting arrested. He calmed down and we agreed that if he just went home, we'd dearrest him and even drive him home.

That's the first time I've heard of dearresting. Does it happen often?

But 10 times out of 10 they are drunk. The bars only carry on serving to make money.

Of course. As you said they wouldn't make money else. Lets face it, the average person is merry/****ed after 4-6 pints. Some will say they can neck 12+ pints and feel fine, but that's generally BS unless they're some huge blubber monster with kidneys the size of a football.

We have a few young girls in our office, mid 20's, who live for the weekend, get utterly wrecked to the point they can not remember the latter half of the evening or even how they got home.

Really can't understand it myself. All your left with, is a few days hangover, and an empty purse / wallet.

They will be crying rape next, especially the way they dress and act sometimes when they are out!

No, but if there was no alcohol there wouldn't be anywhere near as many jobs in a few different areas. Its never going to be made illegal anyway - If it was a new 'drug' it would be banned tomorrow but the country relies on it too heavily now

Same was often said about tobacco and that is on its last legs these days.

But yes said people are annoying.
Should have a drinking license and have to show it at bars.
