Need advice between two 7870's before I purchase

About to order a card here in the states and have got it down to two choices price and review wise. My two choices are:

XFX Double D FX-787A-CDFC Radeon HD 7870
GIGABYTE GV-R787OC-2GD Radeon HD 7870

I like the looks of both. I get a few bucks from rebate and the lifetime warrenty of the XFX but man I love that WF cooler. Anyone with either or opinions on one to pick? I do want it to be as quiet as possible under load which is why I am leaning to the WF.

Why spend £210 on a 7870 when you can get a much much faster 7950 for the same price?

Get one of the recently released 7870 with a 7950 core. VTX3d and Sapphire have released them. Fastest 7870 available.

As above look at the new 7870's with tahiti le cores, going for £200 in the UK.

Here in the US the tahiti le's are going for $285US. Those two I posted are $240 and thats the extent of my budget.

I might just go for the WF.

I've got the wf 7870. brilliant card, load temps are like 50c. no buyers remorse

Thanks for that. Thats the one I went with. Just seems like a nice, solid card that is good all around. Would have loved one of those LE's but they are to high priced here and just couldnt afford it.

Truth be told I probably would have been fine with a 7850 but just wanted as much bang as I could afford as I dont get to upgrade as much as I like. While the card in my sig was lower end even new I have to say this little sucker has performed very, very well over the last few years for as cheap as it was.

You'll be very happy with the 7870

iirc 7870's got the most benefit from the 12.11 drivers, something insane like 20%+ gains from some titles. Without a doubt you should be able to clock the 7870 well above stock LE levels too, even touching on 7950 speeds if you're lucky.
