Well, after many moons of deliberation I have finally gone and purchased a new system.

I'm chuffed to bits and it's sat in the dining room waiting to be built. There are a few more things that I need to get though. Apologies that I've posted more than once but I want to get this right. Here is what I have so far:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC Twin Frozr Power Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £311.99
1 x Asus VN247H 24"Widescreen Super Narrow Bezel LED Monitor - Black £179.99
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £167.99
1 x MSI Z77 MPower Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £149.99
1 x NZXT Phantom Enthusiast USB3.0 Full Tower Case - Black £109.98
Total : £936.43 (includes shipping : £13.75).

I have left out a soundcard for now as I'm going to use my existing speakers and try the on board audio.

Also, I already have the 8GB Kingston Hyper Genesis Grey RAM, hence why no RAM included.

I am struggling to decide on an appropriately sized PSU. Heres the thing, I honestly don't envisage going down the SLI route and the 670 PE will more than handle 1080P. I am wondering then if this will suffice:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic G series 550w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £72.98
Total : £81.68 (includes shipping : £7.25).

However, seeing as this is minimum, should I allow myself more headroom (even though I prob won't go SLI) and grab a 650W?

Finally, going to go for the 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD. The best choice right?

Thanks all again.

THe growing trend is for components to use less power not more. IF you want to SLI you will need 750W. For a single GPU setup 550W is more than ample, that seasonic PSU is gold rated and of very good quality......and is on offer :)

The samsung 840 Pro is good, dont bother with the basic you might as well get the 830 over that. Hope this helps

Ah, the return of Wazza :)

I really think the 550W Seasonic will be ok. Let's say I DID go SLI, then I'd need 750W.

So, by rights would it be better to spend that very little bit less and grab a 650W?

Why not compromise and get the 256GB 830 SSD which is still great and will be cheaper (it beats the 840 Basic), the money you save you can pump into a 750W or even 850W PSU

its upto you really,i think a 750w would be the best choice plus its only £10 more than your original seasonic 550w

Agreed Apeksdiver, does sound rather contradictory reading it back :p

Well, I am taking into consideration the write speeds of the 840 Pro and going off the fact it is on offer too. Does this kit include a mounting bracket?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Samsung 256GB SSD 840 PRO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7PD256BW) £199.99
Total : £209.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Does the basic means that it just comes SSD alone?

*Please attach N00b symobol here* :D

No the 840 Basic technically isnt the same drive at all as the Pro. The 830 is better than the 840 Basic. If you get the 830 desktop kit it will come with a mounting bracket and make sure you use the magician software they supply to tweak the OS and SSD for performance. The 840 Pro basic kit wont have a mounting kit but you can easily fix it anywhere with double sided tape ;)

i dont think there is,they are paper light though so sticking them somewhere is easy or buy a cheap bracket as the ones bundled with the drives are overpriced

all the drives come with the magician tool software, plus its easily downloadable
