2.8l z3 how terrible of an idea is this?

As much as the Z3's got a slating, my mum had a 1.9 from launch in blue bond colour!

I wasn't allowed to drive it for several years after that but when I did I really loved it, loved the handling loved the gearbox and despite the engine size it had more than enough grunt, so the 2.8 should have more than enough :)

Hope you enjoy your motor

The non-M Coupes were LHD only, so North America and Europe.
I think it's great. An M would've been overkill so it's a good compromise as the 3.0 M54 is a peach.

I really really like that. Not 100% sure on the auto box but what an awesome car

I love the rear 3/4 view. Brilliant little car. Not an auto.

I'm loving the coupe.

me too, i definitely see a z3m coupe in my future

Have just had a little potter about in it and enjoying it so far. Does make a pretty nice noise, sounds better than the 523i did. Having said that and against the grain I actually quite like the sound of 3l d in the X5

I don't know why everybody has a downer on an auto sports car, a steptronic box in "S" mode is a nice thing to play with imo.

Quick tip OP, disconnect the battery for an hour or so, the box effectively resets and then will re learn your driving style, and adapt its shift change pattern accordingly.

I did this to both my e38 and e39, the difference to the change in the e39 especially was amazing, it had been driven from new by my old man, and had a very lazy feel to it.
I reset it and took it for a good blast and it felt like I'd replaced the gearbox!

Drive by wire throttle bodies have a very similar function. People are often disconnecting batteries to get a sharp throttle response back after a period of slower driving.
