Just had this 100% confirmed. T-Mobile sim's will DEFINITELY work in an Orange/EE handset.

Just had a call from a good friend who bought his Orange PAYG and slid his T-Mobile sim in and it worked straight away. No ambiguity, no BS. Your Tmobile sim WILL WORK.

Buying mine tomorrow :D

Great thanks for letting me know. I can guarantee the EE shop in the Trafford Centre will refuse to sell me the phone or have run out of stock tomorrow!

I have randomly entered this subforum to find the upgraded handset I have chosen appears to be a popular choice - did I choose well?

I am loving the Lumia phone.

Is this thread a celebration (of sorts) of the handset? I couldn't be happier with the geeky options. i love this phone.

Ironically, I selected this handset for the big screen,to assist better surfing, and the benefits of wireless chargig and Pc compatibility are extra boosts

Does anyone know what EE's return policy will be on one of these?
Say if I use it for a week but don't get along with it will I be able to return the handset?

Thanks,
Jake

You are covered by DSR, if the handset was ordered online. So you should be able to return it within 7 days.

If it was purchased instore, I believe you are stuck with it. However, I could be wrong.

Great choice IMO. What colour Lumia did you get? :p

So in the Trafford Centre the 'Orange' EE store staff claimed that the offer of the free wireless charger has been withdrawn with the Lumia 920 on PAYG. Charger is only available with the phone on contract now. I was so annoyed that I walked out. There was also no sign of any 20% off offers in the shop window.

If I'm still interested in the phone in the new year I'll wait until the price drops a little more when the other networks offer it sim free.

They said the same to me in new malden ...just stood my ground and told them to check with the blackpool store...they did and they gave me the charging pad for free. They had to do a manual receipt but no problems.

LOVING the phone by the way :)

Are there many exclusives to WP8 that arn't available on 7?
Tempted to get a Lumia 800 for £125 to last me till I decide on what on earth I want to get on a new contract next year but don't want to have nothing available. To be fair I mainly just use the phone as a phone, but my blackberry is just fubar so I need something temporary.

As good as WP7.5 is, everything being released now works with WP8, but apps released for WP8 cannot work on WP7.5 - thus the initial annoyance and uproar.

MS have changed the system and thus make it easier for apps to be developed between W8 and WP8.

If you can get the Lumia 920, I'd say get that rather than the Lumia 800.

this is purely as a temprorary phone for about 2 months till Blackberry 10 is out, then I decide which ecosystem to commit to out of WP, iOS, Android and BB. Have owned Android and BB in the past, used iOS a lot but have never really played with WP, hence my interest in using one as a temporary phone for £150.

Well the 820 is now in my wife's hands with a T Mobile sim. The staff in EE are either liars or don't know what they are on about. The price paid was £250 including a £10 top up.

On a side note a friend of mine who works in the industry confirmed that the price paid was almost cost to EE.

Can't seem to get wordament to sign in to XBL live on my 920 :(

I've tried all their suggested fixes.. refreshing, reinstalling, powering the phone off, checking the date/time but it's still suckered. Anyone got any ideas?
