How much traffic will I see on the motorways between Birmingham and Southend between 10:00 - 18:00 tomorrow?

Need to make round trip between those two locations within that time period (about 300 miles in 8 hours). Will it be enough time?

I'll be doing Stoke to Purfleet ,Essex over to Becton & then back to Stoke in a speed limited HGV in no more than 9hours (driving time) if that is any help.....

You'll see a lot of traffic, certainly.

Generally though, the motorways won't be as bad as a regular Monday, you won't have anywhere near as much commercial traffic (Trucks, vans, tradesmen, business drivers etc) as a normal Monday, but expect delays near shopping centres in the morning.

Seems to cut too close then, especially when I can't do it non-stop and have passengers on board. Was planning on using a hired car, but may have to use my own now.

Change of plans then it seems. Thanks!

You will see more traffic on the a13/a127 then anywhere else.

Always grid locked on those roads leading into southend.

good luck :)

SOUTHEND!

I set my fastest ever Southend to northWich time ever on xmas eve. The roads were amazing

I used to do Southend to Birmingham city center from time to time in rush hour, normally it was a 3 and a half hour journey I think once I got stuck in traffic for what felt like an eternity and it was still only a 5 hour journey.

I think with 8 hours your going to be fine :D

edit: Whats all this about the 127 being hell? Granted before the changes they made at progress road it used to be a bit of a pain, these days its much much better.
