Help me choose my next Christmas game

I have a little tradition to treat myself for Christmas. As I have two to three weeks off work at this time every year, I get in some nice ales and spend a good chunk of my free-time gaming.

It's become a great part of Christmas. Last five years, I've lost myself in The Witcher, Fallout 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Batman AA, Orcs Must Die, Skyrim, and this year I've just finished Dishonored, but can't decide what would be a worthy title to play from now until early Jan.

Needs to be something I can sink my teeth into and that will keep me interested for 40-50 hours or so.

I'm trying to decide between these unplayed games that I have:

Fallout New Vegas
Batman Arkham City
Total War Shogun 2
Divinity II
Risen 2 Dark Waters
Two Worlds II Pirates of the Flying Fortress
LA Noire
Crysis 2
Bulletstorm
Rage
Darksiders
Saints Row The Third

I'm leaning towards one of the RPG-type games because they're usually a good bet to be fairly long-lasting and immersive, but can't decide because I don't know enough about them really.

Any comments to help me decide? Is New Vegas still decent? Can it be made to look good by today's standards? Etc...

New Vegas will keep you playing for a good while. I have New Vegas and unmodded it still looks pretty good. There are always mods on the New Vegas Nexus such as HQ textures. I had LA Noire and found it to be a fun game to play too.

Arkham city is next on my list. Join me! :)

Ok!

Been going backwards and forwards trying to decide. Almost settled on New Vegas, then decided it looks a bit dated graphically and I'm not sure I want more wasteland gunplay after FO3. Then decided on LA Noire, but the 13GB install on Steam would take hours.

So... yeah, Arkham City, why not! :)

Another thing that put me off New Vegas right now is the time I'd need to take sorting out which mods to use. This long after release I doubt I'd play it without any mods, but there are so many it will take a little while to sort out which ones to use. I'll probably spend a bit of time figuring this out in advance I reckon before installing it.

Yeah I always spend hours modding Skyrim, play for about an hour and lose interest because most of my time was spent modding

+1 for LA Noire, do you know if its the complete edition? took me 29 hours to complete it and there is a lot more play time if you like collecting things

titan quest is really nice RPG me and my brother spent last xmas playing it through
saints row is epic but only because its so silly well worth a go (not sure if you will get 40+ hours)
darksiders i really like look of it but i have to much screen tearing i couldn't face playing it any more sadly but when i get round to finding good settings for it ill go back play again

i to almost got new vegas but changed my mind and grabbed anno 2070

Titan's Quest !!! + Immortal Throne :)

If I hadn't already finished both (twice!) I would agree that would be a great choice.

I was all set for LA Noire just now until I saw the 13GB download it needed on Steam...

Don't remember if I bought the complete edition or not, but Steam is telling me I already own the DLC so I guess it must be(?)

You do know you dont get to see or fight the full contingent of end level bosses until you reach the hardest level??

Plus you only used i assume 2 classes?

Yeah, I know. I did play all the way through on Epic and was kind of thinking I'd go on to finish it on Legendary as well. But I got bored part way through Act II. Started a new character but got bored of that too.

Put many many hours in though, and ended up feeling the game was played out for me.
