Hello GD forumites!

I'm in a bit of a conundrum. Apparently my current, green Casio protrek watch is shabby and disgusting, so I am in need of a new watch!

I'm after an atomic G-shock watch that looks relatively professional and has analogue and digital.

So far the only watch that has met my demands is THIS. I absolutely LOVE the blue, but the yellow isn't that bad either. I can't, however, find the blue version anywhere :(

Recently I stumbled upon the Japanese version of it. I was wondering what the differences actually are between the Japanese and EU versions of the watches? The main thing I need to be correct is the date format (DD/MM/YYYY), can anyone confirm whether this is the case with the JP version?

Links for the blue and yellow watches on Amazon:

Alternatively, I can buy the EU verion here, but I don't really trust the site, I'd rather stick with Amazon if possible :)

Thanks!

G-shock and processional looking shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

I did say relatively :p

I refuse to buy some good looking watch that is fragile/useless, the -Shock linked above is what I feel will be the best compromise :)

Any other suggestions will also be welcomed! :)

Is this like when we prefer the stench of sick to the stink of faeces?

Time to recalibrate :)

Lol :D

Honestly though, I personally think that the watch looks good, and ultimately, whilst I'm more than happy to listen to others' my opinion will be the one that matters and will be different to others'.

I was more hoping to get some help n the technical differences :)

PS - It does actually look quite good on Mr. Osama!

G shocks aren't professional. I like mine. It's good, it's great for anything where it might get knocked, or any kind of rugged work in particular.

You will never catch me wearing it with a suit.

depends on whether you are tslking professional in a smart/business sense or a sporting sense, certaibnly they do not fit the first and in reality are a watch for teenagers unless used in a sporting environment

What would you consider a professional watch? I'm not talking anything that'll be closely inspected at job interviews, just so long as its something that won't stand out as being informal. I'm buying g shock more out if function than anything.

If you want a G Shock grab it from creation watches, huge selection and great prices.

I couldn't find it on there :(, thanks though :)

Take a look at the Casio GW4000D-A1

I bought this earlier this year and since getting it, I've not worn my Breitling or Omega watches. It's just something different and I think it's the best looking of the G-Shocks. I'm sure I'll go back to them but this just suits me at the moment.
