Duchess of Cambridge's nurse has reportedly been found dead

To be honest I've never felt the DJ's are responsible for her suicide but I do think it's worth pursuing the fact that gaining medical information by impersonation is fraud.

 What medical information did they even attempt to gain? Have you listened to the call? They could have asked some questions aimed at getting serious information, but were (a) clearly not trying, and (b) too busy making themselves look stupid with their ridiculous impressions and dog barks.

+1 Hopefully now the idiots on this thread that think someone case go commit suicide on a wim are shut up about it.

Have to disagree about that because my nephew had his inquest last Monday.
No history, no texts, no Facebook, no talking to friends, no suicide notes and so on.
The day before, his 5 year old son had his birthday and in the evening they had a party for just adults and my nephew behaved as normal.
He got up on the Sunday, started tidying the house up, went upstairs and put his favourite England shirt on and hanged himself from the attic.
As far as the Coroner was concerned it was done on a whim.

This adds some context to the sad affair:

(Source).

members of Ms Saldanha’s family have revealed that the nurse was so ashamed after taking the hoax call earlier this month that she did not tell her husband or children about it before her death, despite speaking to them by phone several times.

Considering the suicide rates in Southern India(44% of Indian suicides are in the southern states, which make up less than 25% of the population and the lady comes from that part of India),and the whole shame culture,it is not surprising the lady killed herself/or it tipped her over, especially with the stupid media making a big deal about the whole thing and the fact that Kate Middleton was in that hospital.

I suspect she would have been terrified that her name would have been leaked to the media worldwide, especially with the media circus which surrounds the Royal Family.

It does make me think if this was not such a famous person, whether any of this would have happened. The other aspect is that the hospital is private too,and relies on paying customers. In fact according to her family, one of the suicide notes she left was very critical of the hospital. They really should have had better practices regarding release of patient information.

The following is the article in a Indian newspaper which the Australian one is referring to.

Indian nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who reportedly committed suicide in London on December 7, days after being the victim of a royal hoax call by two Australian radio jockeys, was admitted in a Mangalore hospital for a depressive disorder in December 2011 when she visited India with her family for Christmas, a member of her family said.

“It is true that she was taken to the Fr Muller Medical College Hospital in Mangalore during her visit last Christmas. We are not commenting on whether it was a suicide attempt,’
’ said the family member, following reports in the local media that she had attempted to kill herself on two occasions during her last visit to India.

According to local reports from Mangalore, medical records from the nurse’s stay in hospital during her last visit, ostensibly for a serious fall, suggested that she was diagnosed with a depressive disorder due to a history of stress and that she may have tried to harm herself.

The exact cause and trigger for the depression was not known and the nurse had been treated, put under medication and discharged in January, reports said.

Jacintha, who worked at the King Edward VII Hospital in London, was a victim of a prank call by two Australian RJs who pretended to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles as they enquired into the well-being of the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, who was a patient at the hospital.

Days later, Jacintha was found dead in her quarters in London

The rest is just speculation from the Indian media, and the Indian media is just as bad as the media here for making up things. If the women was that depressed already she would have been with her family in Bristol.

 What medical information did they even attempt to gain? Have you listened to the call? They could have asked some questions aimed at getting serious information, but were (a) clearly not trying, and (b) too busy making themselves look stupid with their ridiculous impressions and dog barks.

How about wasting the time of nurses, who are looking after people in a night shift?? Nurses are under enough of a massive workload making sure their patients are looked after, instead of useless gits who have nothing better to do than divert their valuable time looking after patients.

Its the same level as selfish morons who do prank calls to the emergency services.

This is not like fonejacker ringing an electronics store and saying doovd, etc,it is a hospital.

I wonder of the same gits would like it if one of their loved ones were in a hospital and would like the nurses time wasted by morons. I suspect not,but they are compartmentalised, selfish morons who are trying to make a quick buck, and it is not the first time people from the same radio station have used cheap tricks(at the expense of others) for their own advantage.

Since the DJs are supposedly under medical supervision,I wonder if loads of people start prank calling their location for the LOLs,some people in this thread, would be OK with that after all the LOLs is what is important, right??

Wasting peoples time is not a criminal offence though (Well, emergency services aside), it's just a completely **** thing to do. And much as we all wish it were so, you can't arrest people for being douchebags.

Plus, lets be honest here, how many people would expect an actual nurse to answer the phone when you called a hospital switchboard? Thats a bit like expecting the pilot answering the phone when you phone Easyjet..

lol wow, making excuses by pointing the finger at suicide rates in India now. I think some people watch too many Bollycrud movies and read too much gutter trash!

No one kills themself over a phone call especially a nurse. She probably had full knowledge of the medical history of the royal family, if this got out the press will be all over it, so to control any leaks they killed her off.

Its not the first time the royals did a hit job.

U mad GD? butthurt?

there was me thinking the cts got butt hurt,,,u know being abucted and having weird sexual experiments done on them.
