Hi all,

Im trying to OC this card a bit further than 1000/1575, but its not stable past this.

Im currently running the GV-R795WF3-3GD bios and according to the gigabyte website there are a further two more updates, however when I try to update either through VGA@Bios or the easyboost utility is doesn't let me.

Any advice ?? .. or is 1000/1575 more than enough for this card ?

Thanks

What voltage are you giving it, will need to up the voltage as you up the core speed. Here are some examples of my card, yours may require more or less its trial and error:

1049 @ 1.125v
1100 @ 1.149v
1203 @ 1.2v
1250 @ 1.25v all these stable running Heaven Benchmark.

1301 @ 1.29v 22secs of Heaven, not stable, so didn't go any further. Hope this helps but remember all cards are different and you do this at your own risk.

All the above was done on the F42 bios. :)

Sorry, im new to this.

How do you change the voltage, because in CCC its only a percentage slider and in MSI Afterburner its greyed out ??

Ok, in AB click settings (bottom right), then tick unlock voltage, apply and you should be able to increase voltage. OR

Watch this video on Youtube, be very carefull and do not exceed 1.3v(recommended max). Good luck and remember you do so at your own risk.:)

You need to use MSI Afterburner, I run my card at 1100/1375 @ 1.125v 24/7 and some times 1150/1474 @ 1.149v with max temps at about 65oC with a custom fan profile.

Cool,

Just ran your 1100/1575 @ 1.149v and im getting 1809 in heaven (Pleased !) and topping out at 61oC. Seems very stable !

Thank You !

on those settings ???
Can try... if you get artifacts, then increase the voltage and try again, keep eye on temps...

I tried 1.268v @ 1200MHz, not stable in Heaven 3.0 - I didn't try any higher, but 1150MHz managed to get stable @ 1.218v, Temp 58°C Max , Auto Fan 43% max.

Follow this to get more overclock
http://www.overclock.net/t/1292713/l...rburner-on-amd

3. Run atferburner once, it will promt you to restart. Restart.
4. Create a Shortcut for MSI Afterburner, place it on the desktop.
5. Right click the shortcut, click properties and in the target box add /xcl.
6. It should look like this
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" /xcl
7. Open the shortcut. It will says the CCC limits have been increased.
8. Exit afterburner and delete the shortcut. Restart.
9. Load up afterburner. Settings>tick unlock voltage control + monitoring.
10. Now you can overclock using AMD's optimal method. There are no CCC limits and you can adjust the voltage. This is SO much more stable than overclocking the Un-official way using msi afterburner.

i have mine on 1.23v 1150 / 1575 , temps idle 25c , load 61c , i think i could lower the voltage abit more, aint played with it for awhile

one i think i notice when i load up windows , MSI auto starts but i dont get the overclocked speeds, defaults to 900mhz, but if i select profile again on msi and apply it runs then at overclocked speeds, would love it to just do it automatically when windows loads.

Hi, i have mine at 1150/1575 @ 1.22v , mine seems to need more voltage, temps are great though, idle 25c , load 62c fan on auto , settled for this now, even if could get to 1200 which i doubt don't think would get any benefit really , my heaven 3.0 score is 1979

I run my wf3 7950 @ 1150/1450 @1.225 (1.32v for sleeping dogs) as my 24/7 clocks.
I have to use a it more volts as the ASIC of my card is crap 59.9%! But runs nice and cool never see above 65c on the most demanding games (everything on max)on auto fan profile.

mines about the same asic is 63.3

i run it at 1150/1575 @ 1.22 . temps are great idle 25/26c . load highest i seen 63c , fan on auto so very quite

probably just try to up the memory although aint gonna make a big difference, i game at 1080p 60hz , and plays games on highest settings no problem

Right, last one. Just done a 1150/1575 run and its awesome at that, so I'm not going higher.

I use BF3 Sharqi from the top of the TV tower as a bit of a benchmarking tool and this 7950 is matching, if not slightly beating the MSI 7970 Lightning BE I had !! (FYI, I changed to release some cash as I couldnt justify the 7970 at 1080p & I got more money towards a T500rs wheel).

Thanks for your help here. anyways. Much appreciated !

Im now running 1.2v at 1150/1450 and its seems stable at a max of 62oC. Couldn't get the 1200mhz to work.

Getting 1851 in heaven. :D

8GB DDR3 1866mhz
