A vid from one of the other squads in our outfit from last nights OP. We play on the Jeager server on the east coast.

Membership gives you 500SC yes? and is £9.

SC is about £8 for 1000 yes?

So are the other boosts in membership worth anything? ive never been low on resources, xp is always good i guess, are Cert boosts only passive when im not playing? how many certs do you get an hour when offline?

Significantly cheaper if you buy a 6 month membership mind you. Plus the member boost grows for each successive month you're subbed, up to 50% eventually I think.

Is it like Battlefield? I got bored of the last one after 2 weekends of play (but I did like BF2).

Only thing this and battlefield have in common is aircraft, vehicles and infantry. And I've played 5 hours of BF3 but find myself enjoying this game a lot more

I see on Steam it's "Free". Is it like those games you get on smartphones where they are free to download but if you want to progress past a certain point, you need to purchase expensive addons?

It's not even matches played out in rounds - it's a persistent battlefield over three continents. You can have hundreds of players in one area. It means things can be very unbalanced, but you also get some awesome moments that just aren't possible in the likes of BF2.

Not really, I mean it has monthly membership for bonuses (nothing imbalanced, just xp boost, skip server ques) or you can buy coins to unlock guns or you can just play for free and unlock everything with the free currency

With the 6 month or 12 month sub you get the successive month bonus at maximum immediately. With the lower ones you get the 500 cash per month, priority login etc but the other bonuses have to build up over each month up to +50%. So with 6 month sub you get the cash, priority login etc + 50% increased resource, passive cert and XP gain straight away. As each cert is just 250xp the +50% xp is very nice.

A number of people in my outfit are F2P and have only bought station cash when they've had the double/triple deals running and seem happy enough so that route is definately viable. My feeling is a sub is nice to have if you know you're going to be playing a lot but not a necessity by any means, just need to make the most of any station cash you do buy and not just splash it on the first shiny gun you see.

Extra weapons / gears can be unlocked through playing a lot.
If you want the extra weapons / gears instantly you could pay for it

its sorta like tf2

Yup but most the weapons you can buy are sidegrades and can be spent by playing for free or getting it quicker by paying with real money. It gives no advantage buying weapons over people who play for free hence why it has such a big population.

So it has no pay2win system at all.

A 3 month sub will give you 3 months bonus immediately, thats what I use.
It's not just 6 and 12.

What's the plan for the future of the game, does anyone know if they are planning to extend the map etc cause surely it'd become boring quiet quick for some people if not

They plan to have 6 continents before the end of 2013 with an improved meta (supposedly each faction will have a unique home continent).

Think i'll give it a break til then, played since tech test and a bit tired of it for now :(
