Who has been to Miami?

Hi,

Off to Miami in a few weeks for some shens with a few colleagues before we head up to Indianapolis for some work- related guff.

Has anyone been to Miami? Any good? Any particular places we should look for or avoid?

I have been, only for a couple of hours tho travelling from Key Largo to Orlando. The mall was pretty cool, beach was ok. Didn't compare to Santa Monica in LA

Santa Monica is awesome although I have been to Miami beach and I thought it had a lot more going for it than Santa Monica.

I have. To be honest after you have spent the day looking round, seeing the beach etc that was that.

Rent a car and drive to Key West instead. The drive is epic.

If going to Indianapolis the speedway tour was a bit meh, the museum while small i quite enjoyed though.

Miami is a dive. I agree with Fox - rent a car and drive to Key West.

Only passed through on the way to Key West. We filled up at a fuel station which had armed security.

This for me as well

The beach was good, some good restaurants. Probably got the name of a great Italian in the food thread I did in le cuisine.
The Betsy hotel was amazing for the price. But overal not much to do apart from relaxing on beech, then meal, then drink.

I did think Miami would be a lot better than it was, I enjoyed the keys way more. I have heard Tampa is really good.
