I'm currently looking for a new car :D
-i do 3-4k miles a year, so mpg doesnt matter
-budget is 6-9k, but can stretch if required
-needs to be either an estate or a hatchback to get bikes/snowboards in the back.
-preferably 4wd for going snowboarding

I'm currently looking at golf R32 (or the audi a3 equivalent which seems to be cheaper for the same spec).
I'v also considered an older S4 avant, with the 4.2 v8 but one of my mates has just got the saloon version so i'd prefer something different.

edit: if anybody can find a decent Passat R36 estate, i could really stretch the budget to get one of those!

Well I've got lingalonga ditch finders on the front & Avons on the back so I have to kick the back out rather than drift it out because the fronts start to slide first if you're not snatchy for want of a better phrase, After the Xmas runs I'm going to swap the ditchfinders to the rear & **** them up ASAP so I can get some decent rubber all round.
Then I'm going to see what's going on with my ride height as I reckon somebody has put the wrong springs on the back, Once done it'll be over for Alignment.

Was this a This Instant and Moment or a What you going to do to you Motor next year thread ? :p

I have a massive long list of silly faults on my Rover 75, I just lack the effort to sort them.
Today I've been debating swapping it for something else, but I think that's pure lazyness on my part.

The list:

- Could do with front tyres
- Tracking needs doing
- Front suspension springs need replacing, missing 1/2 a coil from driver's side
- Driver's seat adjustment not working properly (height, so not important, just annoying)
- Heater matrix partially blocked, meaning the passenger side doesn't get much heat. Driver's side is still working OK
- Rear lunch box lid hinge damaged
- Rear cup holder damaged
- In tank fuel pump not working (no detriment, just means I have to keep fuel above 1/4 full)

I should probably just man up and fix it, really.

It's all minor stuff - the important stuff is all 100% (well, apart from the slightly smaller spring on one side!).

I'd chuck it but can't replace like for like, I'm really growing to like it. Shame on me :(

If what you want to discuss is a worthwhile topic/likely to generate enough discussion then please create a new thread for it. If it's a trivial point then the thread on "This Instant & Moment" in GD seems a more appropriate place for it.
