Hi i'v got OcUK 1/2" G1/4 barbs and was wondering would these alone be ok for a secure tube as I can't find and clamps on ocuk to hold them on?? or would it be better to use an alternative barb?

deffo use clamps the black plastic ratchet clamps for barbs they are re-useable ( and if you aint already also use plumbers tape on the barb threads) depends on your tubing if its 3/4 od if its smaller od you might get away with it but for peace of mind...

There is no need to use PTFE tape anymore with watercooling, parts have came a long way. Anyway it wouldn't really make a difference if once the tubing slipped off.

I would just put some zip ties on as said above.

I have the same barbs as you. When I was leak testing my loop, it started leaking after a few hours, so I just used zip ties as mentioned above until I bought some proper hose clamps from elsewhere. Zip ties worked fine with no leakage, but they obviously don't look as nice as proper clamps.

compression fittings are the future IMO :) and as for WC fittings most have an O ring on them so there is completely no need for PTFE

Be carefull if you use cable ties to secure tube to barbs, I have seen them pinch tube right under where the head of the cable tie is (they never really lay flat in this area and cause a v shape to form) and can cause small leaks.

Not saying dont use them, just be carefull ;)

^yes that will happen, but usually only if you use fairly large/thick cable ties, use smaller thin ones, gives next to no surface area for a pinch to develop :)
