Another reason why the US needs Federal Gun Control. I can't believe the petition to deport Piers Morgan either just because he advocates Gun Control.....Anyone who really thinks that the solution to such incidents is arming everyone needs their head sorted tbh. Armed Teachers indeed...what kind of society is that?

The NRA disagree. So unless you want to amass more political sway than them which essentially means getting the financial resources to buy that sway, then you're wrong. So just get a cup of tea, wait for the news to broadcast the next mass shooting and wait for all this to blow over.
Well, that's kind of my point, a law abiding citizen wouldn't bring a gun to a state where it is not permitted, only someone knowing that its wrong would.
LA Times reports that he used illegal guns. In the school shootings last week the guns didn't belong to the shooter.
Gun control, background checks and whatever else won't stop anything. It will just aim to please people who read the news, get irate and want something done even if it isn't the solution. Legally held weapons are extremely rarely used by their owners.

Some psychological goings on there i imagine, but that is as far as I shall go.
It's not so much that people should be armed but more that bad people need to be killed or removed from society. Arming law abiding people is the only way to do it when the system REFUSES to with revolving door prisons, woefully inadequate mental health system and treating criminals/psychos as victims of society.
Urban America is heaving with gangs, rapists, robbers, meth heads, and psychos. The police can't protect you all they do is clean up the aftermath, the system can't and WON'T protect you, you need have a gun and protect yourself. If I lived in Singapore or Iceland or someplace like that I doubt I would feel the need for a gun for self-defense.

Arming more peoPle isn't the answer, removing the weapons is.
Arming more people and you are promoting vigilantism (like that poor kid who got shot a year ago) and escalation. "that bloke in there might have a pistol, I'll take an AK. That guy might have an AK, I'll take a rocket launcher etc etc" remove the problem don't add to it. It is easily arguable the recent massacres would have been a lot less severe had the loonies only had access to knives and pistols than rifles and automatics. Bush lifted the automatics ban and without looking into the facts (I don't have the time or inclination) I would bet that a massacre pre auto was a lot less severe. The whole thing should be removed but accepting that is pretty much impossible reduce the risk factor.

its a bit less effective at a city level if criminals can pick up a legal weapon quite easily just a few hours drive away form that city.

While I'm not a fan of Piers Morgan he's on the right side of the fence on this one.
It could cause it to detonate, but it's not likely to actually go any great distance without a barrel to guide it.
