Basically I really hate humming, and no matter what case I use they all hum, so I'm looking at buying some elastic bungee cord, what size outer diameter do you guys think I should buy?

Buy something that'll fit through the screw holes you'll need to the threading it through. I'd guess that'll limit you to 3mm unless you're intending on drilling additional holes.

I found the 4.6mm bungee cord I got a little on the thick side. The 3mm I used previously was easier to work and probably reduces vibrations a little more than the thicker. Still I'm very happy with the result of both as they both reduced vibrations from really annoying to less than I can detect.

Just grab a few metres. It's not that expensive. It is surprisingly useful stuff to have kicking about for other uses.

Agreed, one of the most useful things in pc modding. Ive used it for mounting fans in optical drive bays. A much cheaper solution than the various bay cooling units on the market.
