"In the fourth and final episode of the Gaming Evolved video series in 2012, we take a look at the gameplay and new graphics technologies in Far Cry 3, where you'll take on a number of crazy pirates in the most visually stunning jungle environment ever in a PC game!"

I have to say farcry 3 is the best graphically impressive game ive ever played. Runs great on a 7970 @ 1440p using the Ultra preset.

runs on ultra with a i7 and a Sapphire HD 7850 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
at 1680x 1050 with some good fps scores, 35/40 fps unless on water, drops a bit but still plenty playable

While at time it does look nice. But then other times it looks plain ugly. Go to any high up place over looking the map and my god PLAIN lol
The graphic Texture pop-ins also spoil the game for me.

for me using dx11 on ultra with a amd card spec above, running 1.4 patch and latest beta drivers, games looks great, still a few issues for sli users but distance set to max should make it look fine, if you want to see it look bad, get an xbx360, as that version sucks once you have sen the pc version so im not complaining, like most pc games with a few patches most stuff get fixed sooner or later

Ultra and no MSAA Matt? With a single card @1080 everything turned up to 11 it's really low frames, unplayable due to stuttering though!

CF and as above getting about 80ish fps ^

At 1440p you don't need MSAA. Can't tell the difference between x0 and x8, FXAA must be doing a good job i guess. :D

I don't know how people have so many issues with this game, it just works and has done since day 1. Never had any problem with stutter and since the latest patch even more fps.

The last patch 1.4 seems to have improved fps . Minimum was 40, now gone up to 45 (from 40) and most of the time im around 50-60fps now.

1172/1563.
Vsync on, triple buffering on, render 1 frame ahead.

Are people with low frames using any sort of OSD for frames, etc? I read a thread that said thats stuttering the game and crashing it for some.

Yes i found using an fps cap did cause some stutter. However i think that got fixed now as i tried it with 1.4 and it was smooth as.

lol no, you must have not played many graphically impresive games then? go play crysis a 5 year old game, it looks way better, from the water effects to the foliage and physics, you can even knock down trees:rolleyes: If you like ovesaturated plastic/cartoon like GFX then yeah FC3 looks cool.:o

Funny that you mentioned it. I have recently just reinstalled Crysis 1 for the first time since I upgraded to my i5 2500K. Ran the Crysis Benchmark on Very High settings on dx10 with 0xAA, I was getting minimum of 33fps and average of 47fps. I know Crysis was a graphic intensive game, but think back about it with the CPU available at the time, graphic card would had been bottlenecked (even my 5850 on my i5 2500K does way better than it did on my Q6600 at 3.6GHz back then).

Anyway, haven't really play through it again yet (gonna leave that till after graphic upgrade), but had a quick run through the 1st level of the campaign...GOD does the graphic looks good, for a 2007 game! Honestly, I don't think it look any worse than FC3...hell, I would probably as far as it looks better, as in FC3 there are times which graphics don't look quite as..."sharp" (dunno how to be more specific, but that's the best I can describe it).

I think Cry 3 engine would had been much more impressive than it is now, if it weren't for being held back by the design of toward multi-platforms. It just doesn't have the same "sky is the limit" feel as the Cry 2 engine (which was for PC titles only).

I think this game looks gorgeous but in Multi GPU/Screens, runs like a dog. I have not tried it lately but maybe the update has fixed stuttering (even on 80+ fps?).

Runs fine on my rig, though there are occasional frame drops, but nothing noticeable. Out of all the games I own, it probably is one of the less well coded games out there.

Runs more or less fine for me, except it really stresses my max GPU overclock. Really heats up the VRMs, even at 1575.

Same here mate. What temps do you see on your VRMS and what clock speed and volts are you using for both core and memory?

Err, basically that video is complete BS.

1. Users on here are complaining that xfire is broken etc.. yet the video says xfire is close to 2x the performance in Far Cry 3.

2. They show the AMD cards performance higher than Nvidia. Err, thats not what the benchmarks show. A 670's performance is better than a 7970 in Far Cry 3.

So in conclusion, the video is a steaming pile of horse dung.
