Thunderbirds Creator Gerry Anderson RIP

RIP Gerry.

Loved a lot of his shows including Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlett, Terrahawks and even Space Precinct

My favourite was actually UFO, much darker, and superb women, submarine string vests for all :).

Don't forget the purple hair for the ladies in space ;)

Sad day :(

Never really liked Stingray all that much (the opening was great...) but the rest are a massive part of my childhood.

Watching the news as I type! Somebody said earlier it comes in 3's.

Well another legend passes!

Thank you Mr Anderson! I thank you for the days when we used to watch Thunderbirds on a sunday along with family visiting for dinner. Too young for it the first time around when it was new, watched it when there was come back with all the repeats. Blue Peter making their own Tracey Island was mad lol. Oh how time as flown... Too fast imho!

R.I.P. Gerry.

Anyone remember this trailer that was done for a new Thunderbirds series supposed to air in 2005?

I always thought it was faked but the puppets seem to be on the button.

Terrahawks was also a great show of his, was by far one of the more advanced ones seeing as it was done in the 80's. Some space sequences in it looked pretty big budget .

I grew up with Thunderbirds, it was awesome, along with the toys too. I still have the original Tracy Island set below.

RIP Gerry.

I smiled at this. When this model was new the show was already nearly 30 years old! Goes to show how good it was that entirely different generations can 'grow up with it'.
I was a bit too old for this but I remember having several of the models as a kid from the newer Terrahawks series he made in the early 1980s.

Joe 90, Thunderbirds,Space 1999 where all my favouriates.. Thanks Gerry for fueling my childhood imagation.. and i still think all women should have purple hair..

UFO

UFo was his best IMO

Similar for me with Joe 90, Captain Scarlet, but mainly Thunderbirda and Space 1999 being real favourites. For some reason UFO mostly passed me by, but looking at some clips on youtube some of the acenes with the ladies were quite daring for a kids show back then.

I can still hear the little beeps and sounds of moonbase Alpha from 1999, and the Eagle was such a great spaceship simply because it was fairly realistic and so detailed. I wish I hadnt thrown away my original die cast model from when I was a kid.
