Just ordered a new LG 55 Smart TV

The LM670T and 620T and a few other similar models are plagued with issues, there's huge threads regardig the issues over at AV forums.

If i was buying now, the Pana UT50B at £599 + 5 Yr Warranty + 2 x 3D glasses, would be where my money would go.

Sounds nice at that price. I'm still undecided about Plasma due to summer sun in my living room :S

Well the UT model is supposed to suffer from reflections as doesnt have the anti glare coating, but i would say even with that would still be better than most. It's a quality TV, and with the 5YR warranty and free glasses it's an absolute bargain.

I'd be interested to read the threads on the 620T problems? I have some experience with that range and haven't come across anything major!

thats the 3 620 thread.

The main issues ive read about are sound on HD working for a bit then going into a loud whistle noise, or nothing at all if switched to standby while on a HD channel then switched back on, BUT i firmware has solved this i think.

Also issues with youtube buffering a lot, even with good BB providers, oh and sound vibration, again sorted on newer models, and requires a LG service chap to fix older.

TBH no tv is without issues.

Got the wrong link. It was the 55 incher that was delivered today.

Must say compared to my old LG 42 plasma, it is &*(% amazing. WOW !!!!

The passive 3D is immense and I was clued watching the free Kylie M concert !!!!! Got a few 3D movies on HD to watch when the kids have gone t bed.

It has a problem though. After 5 mins a black vertical line appeared where the panels are joined straight down the middle of the screen :(

Quick call to richer and they will replace it asap. It has however disapeared and the screen now looks perfect, but the chaps at Richer insist that it should be replace. Top service from them so far.

I do have quite a bit of back bleed bottom left, hopefully the replacement will not have so much.

Add to that 24p issue, which pretty much affects all blu rays, not sure if they have fixed it but i'm sure LG have withdrawn this feature for thier specification sheets for a few models in this range.

Dirty screen effect, and motion problems whilst watching sports, football.

I have a LM42620T and have no issues, no tv on avforums is issue free :D

The 24p bug isn't something i care about so could be an issue for some?

Noticed since upgrade the tv is dog slow navigating between all screens and playback on start up. Eventually picks up the pace, but took nearly 5 mins to switch on and play a 3d movie...

Got the 55' today, problems and issues i had with the 47' model i bought last year have been sorted.

Steaming over the network from my box was hit and miss before, and the dts sound issue has now vanished.

Im guessing it's no more than a software, firm update, but no updates on the old screen solved it before.

Strange, but a grand well spent.

they were selling loads off cheap today at Currys, they were stacking the boxes by the front door, these were Sammy 42'' LEDs, it looked like a market stall.

it looked so tacky, because they had loads of their Sales vultures hanging around trying to grab your attention, i tell you Currys is getting worst and worst.

our currys is the size of a Supermarket.....so many TVs and they're all Sammy/ LG LEDs..... or Finlux and in the corner on their own..........3 plasmas :D
