Following on from this thread, I'm curious as to who else has a big backlog of DVD's and blu-rays to watch, especially as Christmas has just been :)

My current backlog looks something like
Cleopatra - 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray (bought cheap, largely because it's meant to be pretty good).
Moon - Bluray (Xmas 2011/12, had recently seen it on TV)
Girl Interrupted/Changeling/The Good Shepherd - bought on a whim as a 3 DVD pack (mainly for The Good Shepherd, and Changeling)
L.A. Confidential Blu-ray - it's one of those films I've been meaning to get/watch for years, and the Blu-ray was cheap.
The Harry Potter Blu-ray set (bought cheap to see if the films were any good)
Madmen S1 & 2 Blu - bought cheap because it's meant to be good, but I've not really got round to watching past the first disk yet.
Rome S1 & 2 Blu - I got distracted about half way through and need to restart it.
Deadwood S1,2 & 3 on DVD - bought them cheap after watching them on TV, but haven't got round to watching (it's only been about 2 years).
St. Elmo's Fire - bought when I was having an 80's film run, but not got around to watching yet.

There are probably a few more, but those are the main ones that spring to mind (they're together behind my TV).

Not a huge amount these days, just some cheapies that we've bought while out in the supermarket to watch while we have dinner if there is nothing else on at various times.

Hannah.
Kingdom of Heaven directors cut.
Inglorious ******** (seen it, just not watched the DVD)
Valkyrie
Grown ups.

That's it, they were all less than a fiver or so

Make Rome and Moon your priority

Rome and Moon I've seen, just not on Blu-ray :)
I need to sit down and watch them again, it's finding the time to do so, especially with Moon where a lot of what is going on is purely visual.

Cleopatra - 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray (bought cheap, largely because it's meant to be pretty good).

It's an absolute EPIC film. Up there with Ben Hur & Spartacus. Just watch it on the biggest telly you can find just to get the sheer scale of the film.

Filming it was plagued with problems though & at the time was the most expensive film ever made.

I've got 15 out of 110 discs in my collection still sealed FTR, though they are films I've watched before. :p

I did buy Robocop, Platoon and a four disc set of Arnie films prior to Xmas, all on DVD. So I've already seen some classics lately. ;)

As for the unwatched pile...

Return of the Jedi - Blu Ray. Bought the original trilogy on release, still haven't summoned up the courage to watch the last part. The Lucas was strong in this one...

Other than a couple of Bruce Campbell films, I appear to have watched all the other stuff. I need to buy moar!
