I'll be looking forever by the looks of things on google to get the information I need. I'm hoping someone here is a mechanic or at least has an idea.

The steering fluid is leaking from the car, was wondering if anyone knew what cost we'd be looking at to get it fixed, worst case scenario. I was just reading something about taking the dash off to get a number and programming steering angles.. wut!? Looked like a costly job, £500ish

I've had a look and I can't see any of the connections leaking so it does look like the pump thats had it.

Have you got somewhere dry you can park it? Then stick a big sheet of paper or card under it to try and find where the leak is.

Could be as simple as a connection coming loose or a split hose.

Ah I've seen where its leaking bud, slightly off to the right from the center.. directly under the steering pump. Its been doing it for a while but I've not used it for a few months, gf had a crash so needed another car.. got it back on the road but the leak is worse now. I hope its just a split hose but from what I can see, it all looks ok. From the angle I can see of the steering pump, that side of the pump looks moist so its possible the hose above is leaking or split from below. Dont have the time to take it apart today, I honestly don't think I'd be any good at doing it anyway.

Car only cost me 8-900 and its got the power of a no legged horse so if its gunna cost £500 to repair I'd be better off getting rid of it

If it's the pump thats knackered it could be quite an expensive fix then.
A new pump is likely to be £200+. Although, depending on how easy it is to get to the pump, it might be easy enough to do yourself.
All you'll really need to do to fit the new pump is swap the 2 hoses over and the pulley for the belt. It could be a pita if its burried away in the middle of the engine though.

Cheers for the replies people.

Not sure who you're correcting with the "center" thing though? :S

Anyway, finally got through to the garage I always use, musta been having a break over xmas. Took it down this morning, its the pump.. £270 including labour which is much better than I was expecting as you can imagine.
