Hi all

Am flying to Paris on the 2nd and am wondering how long it takes to get off the plane, through passport control etc at Paris CDG. We have no luggage other than carry on.

Reason being is we are wondering whether it will be possible to catch the 21:17 TGV when we land at 20:15, or whether we will have to take the RER and then other connecting trains.

Cheers!

TGV is the easiest setup as it's so fast, but the journey we want to do can be easily completed by RER with one change, and that runs till past midnight :)

Although if you're late then it'll be a nightmare.... So be ready to take the RER.

We are, it's a simple trip on the RER which I've done before; I'd just rather take the TGV if possible as the trip is a hell of a lot quicker and less faf!

Should be fine after you land . We went there in feb but sat on the Tarmac at Newcastle for longer then we were flying due to fog

Fantastic, 17euros and a 10 min journey is so much better than jumping on and off trains on the RER. Fingers crossed the weather in Bris doesn't delay us!

Paris without Eurostar? I didnt think anyone bothered anymore :p

I suppose it depends where you're based - being on the doorstep of Southampton airport, it would have taken me longer to get to the point where I could get on the Eurostar (and would probably have cost more too) than just getting on a Southampton to Paris flight :p

At £100 each way per person from Bristol it's cheaper to fly, significantly!

I can't say whether you'll make your train or not but the less time spent in Paris CDG the better. Easily the worst airport I've had the misfortune to travel through. Last time I was there, I had a 4 hour layover - I was nearly suicidal by the time my flight boarded :(

I have to agree, connecting flights are the worse as the shorter you try to make them the more chance you lose your bags! Easily 2hrs between flights to have any chance of getting them at your final destination!

Fox is the Sheldon Cooper of travelling.

Took me around 20 mins, easy. Going out home tho took an hour and half cause of some technical delay on the plane. Was sat on the plane longer waiting to take off than the actual flight!

LOL:D

I went through CDG back in Oct when my missus decided to fly me to Paris for lunch on my bday...getting through took us less than 20 mins. On the way back becuase of Air France being on strike or something, our flight was delayed by a good 3 hrs and dear god it was an experience that i dont ever want to repeat.

I can't remember CDG being bad. The journey from CDG to Paris takes some time mind... Guess it would be the same as flying to any 'London' airport mind...
