Steam Christmas Sale 2012

yeah, it really is something different, I found t he first one terrible but loved the second one. Just couldnt get used to the combat of the first one :P

Only picked up Morrowind in the current daily deals, and the time of day change DLC for Anno 2070. Still hoping for the secret world to make an appearance.

Has anyone played Risen 2 Dark Waters? It's currently just a tenner in the sale, reviews seem to be a little mixed, the combat is heavily criticised in some reviews but this may have been patched/tweaked since release, any opinions on the game appreciated, thanks.

The story is very good, but the visuals and gameplay mechanics are quite dated.

£5.99 is cheeky, thats the price of a moderate meal from a fast food resturant! Sort your priorities out! :p

Fantastic game is MotN.

I wonder if the norovirus has put lots off of fast food? it has for me. Never know who's coughing/handling about the food.

The problem is he sale being too long. It feels that it is a stream of repeats just now.

I don't think there will be any surprises during the final days of the sale this week.

Not expecting any surprises, there never are at the end of the Steam sales. Disappointed with this one, but hopefully the next will be better :)

Worth getting and playing the first witcher, or just to play the 2nd?

I wanted to play the first one when witcher 2 came out so i got that first and played a bit but couldnt get on with it too well, but i imagine in its day it was ahead of the game for rpgs!

Witcher 2 however is totally different and plays much more like modern games of this type making it easy to get into and the graphics are still the best ive eber seen, soo good! Story is great!

Firstly, It wont run on your PC on minimum? then you say it keeps frames:o

Secondly Witcher 2 was recoded a majority of the game from ground up & patched With a 8-12GB update 6-8 months after release (with free content to), so if you havent tried it since try it again!. you cannot say it was a bad port afterwards.
The original Release only ran on Dual Core & didn't use SLI/Xfire
After patching it supports Quad Core & SLI/Xfire for ubersampling

There are now More graphics options than i can think of in any game to date
Reduce your Draw Distance & Texture Sampling & your Machine will be fine.

my manchine is slighty faster than yours in terms on graphics but i can play maxed with Ubersamping & Achieve 50FPS in most areas. With it off i go to 80-120FPS

Never have a problem with camera Buttons Errors now.

The Patch Fixed so many things its unbelievable

Also ATI Released Massive Witcher 2 Improvements at that time.

Some of the Patch Notes here:
im still getting patches now!

Mate, doesn't have to keep frames to not run, the fact I can't at all rotate the camera without feeling completely put off the game is what makes it not run, its awful and feels extremely choppy at any res/settings. I grabbed it in the last sale so I tried it recent, and it just didn't work, whats your specs? Ubersampling and maxed at 50fps is some very good going.

I've tried it on both keyboard and mouse, and a gamepad and it's the same. I'm really not sure what to compare it to, it's just extremely chuggy when I rotate the camera, it microfreezes and stutters, and then when its done freezing it'll zoom ahead really really fast to the current time if that makes sense, all in about 1 second, its enough to make you feel sick LOL! :p

This sale is a bit of a joke now, a game goes on sale in the community choice, then it goes on sale in the flash sale :o

Not really, they had an outage during the DCS A-10C Warthog CC sale. Which is why it is in the flash sale in case people missed it.
